Watch Shopping

if you or your FH bought a Breitling watch where did you get it? i procrastinated as usual and went to Fortunoff this weekend to pick out FHs watch (its his wedding gift from me) and now because of everything that is going on with Fortunoff they can only sell what they have in the store and the guy is not allowed to order anything.....the last time we saw him he told us to come back before May because that is when Breitling raises their prices - so of course we waited until a month before to go and now they don't have the watch he wants - its the Breitling Bentley 6.75....the guy told us we can keep calling him because there is a chance he will be able to order again at some point but if it gets to close to May and he still cant order he told us to go somewhere else....we are going to try calling other Fortunoff stores in the meantime to see if any have the watch in stock....i want to go through an authorized dealer and we've shopped at torneau before and we dont really care for them...ugh what do i do? i NEED to get him this watch (and still dont know how the hell i am going to afford it )

we talked to everyone at the counter - it had something to do with lord and taylor and the buyout or something - i guess they dont know if they are going to continue selling breitling yet so they can only sell what is in stock at the moment...the only good thing about fortunoff was that i could have it sent to my Mom in florida and avoid paying the tax on it - Fortunoff discounts Breitling 20% and if for some reason i couldnt finish paying it off in time for the wedding i could throw the balance on a credit card - some places only give good discounts when you pay cash

Hi! I can check with my jeweler if you like. He could probably order it if he doesn't have it in the store. He did that with a watch I bought my FH. Let me know and I can FM you his information.

OH just for breitling, honestly i was surprised they did sell it. So yeah sounds like they might stop. Call the one in the city and ask, the one in the city is JUST a jewelry store so maybe they'll have it in the store what youre looking for.

I've been thinking about getting FH a breitling too but i dont know if i can afford it Or if i have enough time now to get it. i will have to really look into the prices cause i'm really only guessing at how much it will be. I may have to go with something else because i only have about a month. Good luck finding it. Let me know where you end up getting it from. thanks

Re: Watch Shopping

You might wanna try stopping in to Tourneau. FH and I have gotten the majority of our watches there and sometimes if you get a good sales person, they will knock down the price a bit. One time the guy knocked off $1400 no questions asked.
Also, I dont known how much the watch that you are looking at is but it if your interested, they have a 0% financing plan too.

i just checked their site and the only fortunoff listed is the one in NJ where we went....it just ***** because we've gone to torneau before and fortunoff gave us a better price...i have lists of places to call now - but it ***** because you usually have to go the stores and see the actual sales people in person to haggle

We are doing watches too for wedding gifts.
I got FH's Breitling at Torneau in Roosevelt Field and he got me a diamond Raymond Weil Watch and b/c we got them at the same time they even gave us a little break on the price which is nice -
We worked with Mike and Harvey.

Re: Watch Shopping

I bought FH the Breitling Navitmer for Xmas. We bought it at the place called Kenjo down on wall street. The guy was really nice, gave us a decent price and shipped it to FH's parents house in jersey so we didnt pay tax.

They are an authorized Breitling dealer and are on the breitling website.

Here is the number 212-402-7000. Not a fancy store, but they have a nice inventory.

Good luck!
