When can you start giving water? And does it need to be boiled?

everytime I ask my ped. he says water is not necessary, I'd ask yours what he wants you do to as far as water is concerned.
my doc said that since you make the fomula with water...there is no need to give the baby water...and when he reached 1 yr we will wean him off formula and start giving him whole milk and maybe a bottle of juice a day...no water yet
i think every doctor is different...mine is one of the ones that says its fine to give a little water every now and then...sometimes i give it to my son an hour or so after his bottle- just an ounce or so....my doctor says with the warm weather coming, its good to introduce it to him....who knows...i don't do it often....i gave him some the past few days when it was sooooo warm out...
My daughter is 13 months old and now that the weather has been warm for the past few days, I give her water and water down some juice for her. This is in between her bottles and food of course.
I heard they dont need water till a year or so, my dr. said I can give her a little water in b/w meals, bottled water, room temperature if she needed/wanted some for her reflux condition, she doesnt even drink an ounce though
every dr. is different. my dr told me to give anthony water at 2 months old. i didnt do it. he was hungry ALL THE TIME and i was BFing. he is 7 months old and i boil his water and add a 2oz water to his 4oz bottle of juice.
