I am having such a hard time deciding which one I like better!!! Anyone have any specific reasons why they would pick one over the other??
I like CLM because it is on the water....but I like Watermill because its located in between my family and FH's so no one has to drive really far. Ugh, I cant decide
TIA!

Re: Watermill or CLM????
Im a watermill bride so I may be biased!! I love the elegant look of the watermill..its exactly what i was looking for, and its owned by the scotto's so you can be sure the food is wonderful! Honestly though, go with your gut feeling, and personally if you are going with an evening wedding, I feel like a waterfront is not worth it, since you won't really be able to enjoy the view,,,,

I am a watermill bride as well and I totally agree that knowing that the scottos are doing your wedding is def something that put me at ease. The people there are so accomodating and wonderful.
You won't be disappointed by the watermill but I really think its a win win situtation.....they are both beautiful.

Re: Watermill or CLM????
We just had our wedding at the Watermill in September and it was nothing short of incredible.
But I do agree that you can't go wrong with either location.

Re: Watermill or CLM????
I vote Watermill but I'm biased. I just know I was treated like a queen on my day and people can't stop talking about the food, service and how beautiful the place was. It is really romantic and intimate, which is the look we were going for.
I've never been to CLM but my best friend is getting married there this summer and has nothing but great things to say about it. If the beach is your thing, this is probably the place for you.
JMO...you can't go wrong - it depends on what type of wedding you want!

Re: Watermill or CLM????
personally, MORE people I've noticed, have had their weddings at CLM over watermill . . . w/ both locations, you have NOTHING to worry about! but i dunno, CLM is gorgeous, especially if its spring orn summer wedding

I've never been to CLM but we had so many people call us after to say that they thought the food and service was excellent at my wedding at the Watermill.

I agree! But again biased because i am a CLM bride too!I've had nothing but good experiences with them so far. FH and I went to a food tasting with his parents (FH is in the food industry) and he loved the food. I went to TWOTY yesterday i thought the food was great. THe price is by far the bet ive gotten by calling around.
As for april showers.. I was worried about that too because i was originally get married in april too.. but people kept telling me that it could rain any day, not any more in april just because it was april..and if it is nice..you get to arrive by boat!! How awesome is that!

Re: Watermill or CLM????
I think it depends on a lot of things.... How many people are you having??? is it important that you're not the only bride (not sure if CLM does 2 weddings, but I know Watermill does)..... Are you OK with your room not having any windows???
If it's crappy out, the outdoor pics are going to be ruined at either location....if you end up going with CLM, you just have to make sure that you like the interior of the hall enough that you would be OK if it rains. Personally, my reception is at the Crescent beach club....if it rains, ofcourse i'll be disappointed, but....I love the room and CH room (even if it is rainy out) so much, that it wont matter.
Also, the reason I ask how many people you are having is that the main room for CLM is smaller than the Watermill room... BUT...largest watermill room is in a basement....so it's low ceilings and no windows.....just a thought....
I live right across the street from the watermill and have grown up in smithtown. FH wanted to look there, but I have had so many ' dinners' for school and stuff there that it wouldn't have seemed special but the food and service are great.... I've been to CLM a couple of times and thought it was OK.....JMO

Re: Watermill or CLM????
We booked the Watermill, the upstairs room. ( I can never remember which room is which).
We liked the entrance and holiday decorations How the cocktail hour is set up in two joining rooms We love that the dance floor is in the middle of the room at the reception. We liked that the bar was in its own private little corner so you don't have to hear blenders or ice. etc. We thought the style was just what we were looking for and the food choices seemed to go on and on. The preferred hotel for oot guests provides a shuttle service to and from reception.
