watermill review
so i went to a wedding at the watermill tonight and i had a TON of fun. the place was absolutely gorgeous.
the cocktail hour was held outside which worked out well with the weather. it was in a patio-like area with the carving station and all the hot/cold dishes set up in the open part of the patio. it was really great over all and the food was yummy.
i am not sure of the name of the room we were in for the actual reception but it was upstairs. i posted a few pictures so if you are getting married at the watermill you probably will know the rooms better then i do. The set up was really nice and was not crowded whatsoever. The only thing that was a little odd was that the groom and bride sat at a 10 person table with the entire bridal party. i have never really seen that before and i thought it was kind of odd.
the appetizer of fresh mozzarella was delish and from what i heard and had the chateau briand, chicken rollitini and pork were very popular. someone told me that they ran out of the tillapia which was kind of weird and they ended up asking the guests who requested this entree if a substitution of salmon or some other fish was okay.
there were two things i was not a fan of. the first thing was the salad. it was a plain caesar salad but it had some sort of fishy paste in the dressy which not a lot of people seemed to like. secondly, when dinner was being served the wait staff did this weird assembly line thing in the middle of the floor and it took FOREVER for them to actually distribute the dinners. it was really awkward and i am not quite sure what was the point of the routine. i feel like it really slowed things down. other than that the service was very good.
Overall, i had a ton of fun. the watermill is absolutely gorgeous and i am sure that anyone who gets married there will have an AMAZING wedding.
