Wax Seals?

Wax Seals?

Did anyone do wax seals for the envelopes? I saw that they had the 'faux' seals that are peel and stick but they are

Suggestions where I should go? Is it hard to do it the old fashion way??

GREAT IDEA!!!

My suggestion is do them on wax paper and attach them with hot glue guns to the envelopes...some of them come out great, but some of them....not so much

I did them for the eparty but I DID NOT want to do them for the wedding invites....they were a major PITA!!!

OMG
don't do it!!! I can't stress it enough!! It's a great idea and that's what I thought!!

I bought the real wax with the stamper and what a horrific experience! To do it there is this whole process..like the wax can't get up to a certain temp. and then when you get it on the envelope it doesn't always come out neat...but that wasn't even the worst part...when my mom was taking them to the post office to mail out they all started to pop open!!! She had to scotch tape them at the post office! I did this for my engagement party and I had my MOH help and me, her and my mom still talk about it till this day..we laugh now, but it wasn't funny doing it then. If you want the look get the sticker that looks like wax, but isn't. You will save yourself from going through the stress I went through. HTH

Thank you! You've confirmed my suspicions! I shall now go on a search for embossed gold foil envelope stickers!!!!

I'm already lining my own envelopes, I don't need to go overboard with another DIY!

Seriously--You would be saving yourself from the aggravation...you can do the embossed gold foil envelope stickers and it will look just as nice as the wax if not better!

that's what I used - it was actually really pretty because they matched the heart stamps that the post office gave me which was unintentional - I'm pretty sure I got them at Michael's or AC Moore. I have some leftovers you can have but probably not enough for all of your invites!

I have to ask - how do you line your own envelopes??

Oooh! OK I'm going to Michael's this weekend for sure to check them out!

It was SO easy to line them. They sell the pre cut liners at paper presentation. Put a little glue, VOILA, lined envelope. I can't stop staring at the envelope. I hide it everytime someone walks by my desk cause they'll be like 'why is Cindy staring at an envelope?' LOL only other brides know the 'sense of accomplishment' with DIY.

LOL You're too funny!!

I ended up at Paper Presentation because I really did not like the envelopes my invite gal gave me. Checked out the liners, took a deep breath and thought 'OK I CAN DO THIS.'

Proceeded to go back to work (of course had to stop by City Bakery and get a very $$$ lunch)

Managed to line the envelope while sitting at my desk. I LOVE the way it looks!!!!

I literally busted out laughing at my desk. that is too funny. I know what you mean even though none of my DIYs are quite done yet I've been printing menus in different font colors trying to get the perfect chocolate brown to match the cardstock!! ack!

OMG, it's so true. I wanted to be like 'seriously, like I MADE this lined envelope...'

I know there are SO many crafty girls out there but I'm SO not. I can get the 'vision' but when it comes to execution, forget it. I can barely wrap a present..... I am 'Queen of the Gift Bags.'

Re: Wax Seals?

Hmm I know someone who was going to do this and it turns out it was a mess and weighed down the envelope alot. Plus if you are having calligraphy done...you dont want to mess up the beautiful envelopes!

Also...I just saw monogramed peel and stick round label type things. They came in silver and gold and were reasonably priced at paper presentation. You can get them with your initial on it. Not sure if that is what you are looking for but just thought I'd throw it out there!
