waxing

waxing

I've only waxed my eyebrows in the past.

Im considering my lower arms and upper lip for the wedding, but its really not that bad/noticable. Will it grow back even thicker? If it will, It's not worth it.

Also, where are you girls going for waxing? I heard you want to go to a real salon, to make sure they measure your eyebrows and everything.

Any suggestions?

Re: waxing

I wax my lip regularly and it grows in lighter. I just do it myself, much easier and cheaper.

My lip I use Sallie Hanson Cream. All you do is put it on and wipe it off. As for the arms my sister did once and it hurt she said so bad she couldnt go again. It grew back weird and itchy.

Re: waxing

Waxing always makes hair grow in finer and more sparse. I get....well, everything waxed more or less at a salon by me, and by the end of the summer I practically have no hair left growing on my legs from waxing them all spring and summer.

I would never attempt my brows on my own. To me, brows are one of the most important parts of your face so I make sure only my brow lady touches them. She scuplts them and trims them as well so they are shaped evenly and to frame my face the way they should.

ETA: I don't know where you live but I get my brows done in Soho, she's incredible:

Robin Evans Skincare

My legs, underarms and everything else I just get done at a nail place in my neighborhood.

Robin Evans, she's in Soho on the corner of Broadway and Houston, I linked her website above. If you can make the trip into the city she's well worth it!

Maria at Nelson d'Leon does the most amazing eyebrow sculpting by tweezing and with some effort you can maintain it by a little tweezing yourself for months. It's $50 and well-worth it.

Also I would be interested to get waxing done too before the wedding but I recently got my legs done and I swear they didn't take off all the hair, left stubble and it grew back itchy. Couldn't deal! Missliss does the salon you get your brows done also do body waxing?

I get my eyebrows done every two weeks and my lip done once a month.

I am starting everything else next month. I go to T.Carlton in Smithtown.

They do, but she's pricey. Only her assistant does body waxing, Robin herself only does brows now and facials. I'll pay for the brows cause there's actual 'artistry' involved and I think she's excellent, but my legs and everything else, eh, anyone can do them, there's not much skill involved in covering my legs with wax and ripping it off, you know? I will say that when I get my legs done some hairs just don't make it out, so I do do some very spare tweezing on my legs when I get home, but for me it's not enough of a bother to spend more money.

I had gotten my underarms waxed in a salon earlier in the year and they did such a terrible job, left so much hair, I swore I'd never do it again. Then last month, I decided to try to do it myself, and it came out great. I had no hair for nearly a month. I used the Bliss Poetic Waxing, it is practically painless.

no its the opposite when you wax, the hair grows back softer and less of it. If you wax for a long time you will notice how less hair grows back then it used to. Its when you shave that it grows back thicker

Try using Veet (its like nair)

I just used it on my arms for the first time - totally painless and the regrowth is a bit thinner

i do my arms all the time, its not bad at all and hurts less than most other body parts trust me. If the hair is long then i dont recommend bleaching it, you can still see it
