way behind bride

way behind bride

I think I am one! Wedding is 11/9 - the invitations are STILL being printed (they are hopefully going out next week), I haven't hammered down the cocktail hour music, haven't dealt with limos, or favors, or placecards. No BM gifts, programs.....Weekends have just gone by where I have done NOTHING! I don't know what is wrong with me. I was so super organized in the beginning and now I seem to be out of steam. My shower is this Sunday coming up, so I am hoping that somehow that jump starts me - has this happened to anybody else with only two months to go? I remember being so envious of the girls that were two months from their day....and now I am jealous of the 2003 brides!

This happened to me last month too!

I was the uber bride until 2 months to go and then I just ran out of steam. Right now Im really paying for the few weekends 'off' i had last month.

My suggestion is to get into gear ASAP. Create a full to-do list and spend a few hours each day working on at least one thing. The satisfaction of crossing out my to-dos has motivated me to get moving again.

Jenny, you're not too far behind. Take a deep breath, make a list and break it down into manageable pieces. Give yourself a couple of tasks to do each week (and then get them done!!). It's OK to take a weekend off, but be sure to get on track soon. You'll be glad that you did.

Are your invites still with a calligrapher? Once you get them, are they all done?? Addressing our invites, putting them together and getting them out the door took me much longer than I planned.

We are getting married a week before you and while I have cocktail hour music, limos, favors (donation scrolls), I still don't have shoes or bra/corset! Yipes!!

By the way, you are getting married on my birthday!!!!

Jenn-
My wedding is late October and it looks like I need to do the same stuff as you (except invites...mine were mailed in the last week or so). On top of that FI and I are moving and my parents are moving the house they lived in for 25 years so I need to help them too. We also just got some really bad family news....

I made my to-do list and it was over 30 things! I alomst choked. Both FI and I are excessive organizers and planners so it freaked us both out but when you step back you realize many of those things can't be done until the few months before.

Good Luck in your planning and we are here to be your stress relief.

Jenny 11-9 can I ask you how much you are paying per person? I already booked other place, but a good friend of mine is beggining to plan her wedding, and different from mine she is having a big affair and I want to recommend her the Castle. Thanks a lot,

Elena

Re: way behind bride

By the way, if you still need help with the cocktail hour, and you want classical music, here is a phone number:
Jeanne Bavota
718-206-1622
917-854-6291

she is a cello player, and she can put together any ensemble you want 'trio, duo, quartet', she is very helpful, and responsible. I have worked with her and she is just wonderful, plus her prices are very affordable, since you are not dealing with a middleman-contracter. If you give her a call tell her that Elena Rojas recommended her.

good luck!
