So we knew we were going to be under our minimum with FH's entire family being either OOT or lame... but we're WAY under. My dad's cousin who is getting married in Rhode Island the day after pretty much split my guest list for my dad's family in half.
SOOOO we have a choice... we can either get upgrades from the hall for the difference or should we just invite more people? I would just run to Michaels and get paper that matches my invite as closely as possible and make new RSVP cards for those people... or ask some LIW girls to come...
ETA: We're about 20-25 people under.

I think as long as you don't think the room will look empty, I'd go with the upgrades. That's our plan if we are under the minimum.

Hmmmm... I actually never thought about the room looking empty. Even at our minimum the room at the Woodlands holds a TON more people.

would the new invites be for people that were on a b list? is it important to you and fh that these people be there? if not, i would definitely go for the upgrades!

i would actually invite more people (FH and I are also always up for a good party ) but seriously I would invite more because there are always people left of the list or friends made since the guest list was created or etc etc and the more the merrier at a celebration IMO!

I would do that.....invite some extra people - you seem to have some LIW ladies who want to come already - and do some upgrades, maybe you can get something you really wanted but wasn't in the original budget.

I would invite some more people since you are so far under but only if they are people you really want to invite and ask for an upgrade. Can you use vendors to fill in some of the seats so it won't be so much under?

Why is everyone away the weekend of my wedding! LOL! Depending on the amount of people I am actually under I could add stuff at cocktail hour or during dessert like the flambe station, chocolate fountain, cookie platters....
