Girl I feel your pain!!! here's some ways we cut cost big time..
basic photography package where i get the rights to my pics and just our album, this way ill make our parents albums and blow up what ever pics we want
DJ with out all the bells and whistles. Just basic lighting no bubbles tvs etc
Flowers, we picked 1 type and what is in season I have a bouquet, guys dont have any and bms have asian silk hand fans instead of bouquets
Invitations from online site, cute but nothing crazy fancy cost us $100. for 75 invites, rsvps
Hope this helps!

Re: ways to save money!!
Some ideas I have had about this along the way:
-Skip the favors or do something homemade (any family members that like to bake??) - DIY invites -Keep your gown on budget!!! (it is more than possible to get one for under 1k!!!) -If you want flowers, go for low flower centerpieces, or skip the flowers and do candelabras or something of the sort... -When booking photographer, put the albums on hold and make sure you can get the high resolution images with rights to your photos. This way, if you have money left over, you can decide to get albums. If not, you have the legal rights to print your own.

Definitely well thought out DIY. A friend of mine ended up spending wwwway more on her centerpieces by making them herself, but saved a ton by making all her own paper items like invites, programs, and escort cards.

I recommend going inexpensive on the invites. We purchased one of the Bride's DIY kits from Michael's and I love the design and they were so cheap! Also, see about doing your candle centerpieces instead of flowers, that should help bring cost down.

Just kidding. If I could I would though, it would be sooo much cheaper! not to mention easier!
Definitely DIY, look into candles instead of floral centerpieces, see if you can get a photog that will allow you to get the albums after the wedding so you don't have to pay for that before.
Also see if any of the vendors you are looking into will offer discounts. I know a lot will be willing to give you discounts if you or FH is military, NYPD etc. You just have to ask,
I also tried cutting costs in my everyday life so I had more $ to add to my wedding fund. I now bring my lunch 4 days a week instead of buying it every day, same with breakfast (literally was costing me about $10-$15 a day). I don't buy anything that I don't need and if I really want something I try and walk away, if I am still thinking about it days later than I might splurge, if not then I never really wanted it.

Re: ways to save money!!
Bargain! i haven't paid the price I was quoted for a single vendor. I am always afraid to ask, but 9 times out of 10, the vendors budge. At this point, if they aren't willing to negotiate, I walk!
Also, spend money on what is important to you and forget the rest. I'm not even bothering with limos, my RH is across the street from the hotel, so I'm saving money there. If limos are important to you, see if something else isn't. I wanted rose petals down the aisle. I was quoted soooo much money, so I'm doing silk petals. Prioritize. I think if you treat yourself in one area, it hurts less when you have to cut back in other areas (my accessories will be cheap, but at least my dress is amazing).
And of course as the other girls said, DIY everything you can. It's almost always cheaper to make it yourself (except making clothes or knitting/crocheting oddly enough).

Re: ways to save money!!
I cut more in my personal life and trying not to go out as much. Also I went through many vendors finding low prices.
