Ways to save $$ on centerpieces..

I figured I would start a thread about this, because my mom and I have been thinking about ways to save money on centerpieces. My colors are purple and green, so I thought a CP with leaves and some flowers.. my mom also thought about floating candles, but we're not quite sure how to go about that.

Any ideas on ways to be somewhat thrifty w/ CP's so that they still look elegant?

TIA!

definitely doing candle centerpieces will bring down the costs a lot. Maybe throw in a few flower petals on the tables.

you dont have to get crazy with your cp's if youre trying to save money... low small cps are really nice

you can add purple to this

Our colors are green and orange.

We're using galvanized buckets and filling them with limes and clementines.

Bonus is that it's something that people will bring home and eat!

i'm getting married at a vineyard and to keep the cost down, i'm thinking of doing something with wine crates and a few candles. once i meet with a florist i'll have a better idea of what can be done.

if you want to have floral CPs, definitely stick with low if you want to keep the cost down. high CPs can be soooo expensive!

We had these at our wedding and everyone loved them. They were our centerpieces and the favor. We even saved money by picking them up in the city.

Thanks girls.. my mom did mention a fruit idea but I dismissed it immediately, lol.. but maybe it would be kinda cool? Only thing is, for our colors.. I would need green and purple... but its not lime green, its like a pistachio. Hmmm... I guess purple grapes could work, with...?

silyss, omg we have the same colors! And your icon, those are some of my flowers! I love those flowers!

Anyhoo, I am also in the midst of trying to figure out a way at DIY our centerpieces. Honestly, I dont have the cash to pay someone to arrange some flowers on the table that people may or may not notice. So we will either go with the flowers the hall will provide us or my mom will do it ourselves. I already started looking at vases for the flowers!

Good luck!
