So mainly for all my wcc brides out there ....I am getting married in June 09 - we are getting rooms but haven't decided on the hotel of choice yet.
We would prefer one with a nicer room for FH and I and one with a shuttle (prefer free) from the WCC to the hotels before and after wedding.
I want to try to get the rooms but a lot of ppl are saying they wont even give me quotes until like 5 months before and I'm scared to wait that long!
Anyone who has a personal favorite or recommendation as to a hotel that would be good???
thanks so much! Michele

Re: WCC brides - hotel help!
Hi Michele
I can't give you a good recc, but I can say to stay away from the Huntington Hilton - they were an absolute nightmare to deal with. Try looking in to the Executive Inn in Woodbury, I've heard better things about them...

I booked at the Executive Inn...I had a pretty good experience with them, a few problems tho. First the good stuff: free shuttle, nice room for dh and I (duplex-type room with fridge and micro), also they coordinate a catered breakfast buffet (extra $$$ of course) the next morning in a private room.
Now the bad: dh's uncle reserved a room, then about a month before the wedding when i called to double check on who had rooms booked, his name disappeared. He had a confirmation # but they still 'lost' his reservation. He got it cleared up and got his room back, but if I hadn't called to check on this he'd be out of luck. Then, the day of the wedding, my family from NJ tries to check in and poof! they dont have a room, which they had already reserved also! The hotel was booked solid, but they accomodated by setting them up in another hotel (I think they also own a hotel a few blocks down on Jericho tpke). but they couldnt stay in our hotel which was a bummer, but there was little I or they could do at that point. Also, they only had one woman who was in charge of room blocks and the catering for 2 hotels, so needless to say it wasnt easy to get a hold of her when I needed to, but despite that she did get back to me...eventually...

Hey, congrats on using the WCC.. we did and LOVED it, ppl still rave about it and I want to come to your wedding lol
We used the Huntington Hilton. They had a shuttle (there was a charge but MIL picked it up so not sure what it was). They were very good the day of, and our wedding night, but they were definitely not the easiest to get in touch with before the wedding. They would never call you back, and they took their time with everything. In the long run they were fine though. Good Luck!

thanks so much for all the help!
I know you can go see hotels and judge for yourself but first hand experience, as you all probably already know, is like no other!
Happy labor day weekend !

Wow I was going to post the same question. My wedding is in 4 months and I still never booked hotels. So I'm looking to book with someone by WCC. What happens if nobody ever books a room. Any word about Fox Hollow INN.

We actually looked into FH first and they were VERY nasty and unwilling to help. They generally like to 'save' their suites for FH brides. Considering how much they charge I really didn't appreciate their attitude.
