We all say we want nice weather - but WHY (just curious)

So we all say we want nice weather, but I was curious if you had to pick one reason why you wanted it to be nice, what would it be....

Easy question. I can't have the horse & carriage that is my childhood dream for my day if it rains. Everything else can be arranged, but all the companies I talked to said that they can't keep the dress (or me) dry if there is more than a drizzle.

I m planing on an outdoor cermony ( but i do have a back up plan just in case) and an outdoor CH i would really like them both outside...

UG, I have a similar situation (where there's NO BACKUP if it rains) and that's what I was curious about. I will keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Nice weather makes the day go smoother. No need for umbrellas, no frizzy hair, no guests huddled under shelter. Plus, I have no back up location for pictures and I picked my reception hall because I wanted an outdoor cocktail hour on the beach. At this point I've given up on unseasonably warm weather and I'm just praying for no rain or even if it does rain, that it doesnt down pour all day.

HAIR...but on the flip side, a HOT slightly humid day is just as deadly as the rain...more so.

Both my Ceremony and CH were supposed to be outside, rain was the only thing that would've stopped that from happening. It was a bit chilly and windy that day and they asked me that morning if I still wanted to go ahead as planned, of course I said yes!!

Also, there really wasn't anywhere to take pics inside.

Actually, we wanted some thunderstorms on our day. (We are both meteorologists and got married on April Fools Day) We figured Mother Nature would have a field day with us. We even joked about having thunder snow. It rained, but no thunder.

Since we know we have no say over the weather, there was no way were were planning anything for the outdoors.

Thanks for the finger crossing! I have the limos as a backup, but since the time I was old enough to dream about my wedding I've always wanted to arrive in a horse & carriage. When I found one I could afford I was beyond thrilled. My outdoor ceremony can be moved inside, pictures can be moved inside or under an umbrella, my hair will be whatever it will be (that is why I own a butane curling iron that fits in a pocketbook) - but the carriage cannot be used in the rain.

I could have answered to a couple of answers.

Dress dragging on the ground (not cool and stained). No grass pics... too wet Wet feet (I really don't like).

Hair and MU ruined unless you have a super large umbrella and no wind.

But in the end, this is beyond our control...... so we have to deal with what we have. It's really about getting married.

I wanted nice weather for a few reasons - OUR CH and ceremony were outside were two- but the biggest reason was for the pictures. We chose WM because of the beautiful grounds and really wanted to take advantage of that.
We really lucked out with our weather, but I know it still would have been an amazing day if had rained - so to all the future brides - don't stress out too much about it!!

it rained pretty much all day for us and I was kinda bummed we didn't have our ceremony or CH outside.
We were outside for a little while in the rain (it was more like a drizzle at that point) and my hair and make-up were not messed up at all.

we took some outside pictures later on in the dark & the ground looked cool from being wet

Edited b/c we did not want our reception outside!
