ITs almost over ladies and men( my abundance of posts over this issue) but its now between:
Stewart Manor CC -price Sat night (march for both) $59 , one wedding, large reception room, nice choices, smaller coktail hr and too far from church I want.
WaterMill: $69 for Friday night( march) Is Friday vs Saturday. A little more money and guarentee is 125 which is just what we will have. Feel more like a 'fancy wedding'. VERY close to church.
ME and FI are agonzing over this decision, there is one friday in March left and Watermill wants a decision by tommorow....any last words for me? ( before I go insane?)
Thanks you all more then you'll ever know!!!!!

Re: We are down to 2!!(prices and feelings inside)
Our October reception was at the Stewart Manor CC, and WE LOVED IT!!! We loved the 'country home' feeling. We did attend a wedding at the Watermill, and while it was very nice, we're still glad with our choice.
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

Sounds like the watermill is a better choice for you. Go with your gut.

I just can't see doing a Friday or Sunday night wedding - it really does inconvenience your guests (although a Sunday brunch could be OK). I'd go with Stewart b/c it's in your price range for a Saturday.
I agree...
I was down to Sunday brunch at Vanderbilt Mansion and Saturday night at Louis XVI - Louis XVI was more accommodating for our needs...

Ok guarantee is 125 are you sure you will have 125 people? If you have 100 you have to pay for 125, remember that
Im biased to SMCC but I have heard wonderful things about Watermill.
Save the money and go on a more elaborate HM, that was my deciding factor

I was in the same mess that you are. Do you go with the one that is closer but more $$ or do you go with the one that is less $ but is a drive and a half. What made our final decision? DO THE MATH!!! Sometimes it just has to come down to how much money you want to spend. If that doesnt help you make the decision, the make a pro and con list for each hall. Right away, you'll see the one your prefer. Good luck, and please let us know how it turns out. This is one of the toughest decisions!!!

It is all about $$$...but sometimes a little extra $$ for a little extra comfort and peace of mind is soooo worth it. With that in mind I vote Watermill!

I voted for Watermill because I have heard soooo many great things and it looks beautiful. SMCC is literally 3 blocks from where I grew up and it was the #2 choice for me for a while. But the only thing I didnt like (my date was a sunday in june for $65) that other places were offering a much larger menu for a very similar price. The room was almost the best I had seen though. James was so friendly too. Good luck!

Re: We are down to 2!!(prices and feelings inside)
I had to guarantee 120, and we ahd a sunday night wedding, and invited 202, and we only got 125.
On a friday night your count might be less, so be careful with the minimum.
Where would teh wedding be in the Watermill, I looked at ti, and it was nice, but I didn't like the room set up, and I ahve never been to Stewart Manor though.
