We are having the hardest time finding bedroom furniture.

Original post by julz33

We have been looking seriously for 2 months and nothing.
We want a light-medium colored wood, King bedroom set. No slats or cutouts in the wood. Plain and modern looking. Not too much to ask for right!
If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE give them. I don't think there is a store or website we haven't looked at.

Ahh I remember why we didn't like that one... the 'quilted' look on the doors of the chest.

couldn't you just get that bed and buy different furniture that matches it?

How about North Carolina Furniture Direct? They have a website and a store front on Sunrise hwy. I haven't been to storefront yet but I imagine it's all going to be catalog type ordering because it's a teeny tiny store. Still, they say NC is the best place to get furniture from.

I don't understand why it's so hard....DH and I don't have bedroom furniture yet bc we can't agree on a set.

Have you tried Ethan Allen, Bassett stores (we have them in Chicago not sure if they are in NY), Crate and Barrel

ETA: They have a Bassett store in Yonkers. It maybe 45 min- hour drive but it might worth a trip. My parents have Bassett Furniture for 15 years and the quality is great.

Here are some of the solid pieces they had

We had a hard time too! We finally ordered our set from roomstogo.com. Then we also ordered a livingroom set. No problems and good prices. Haven't checked the site in a while, but it may be helpful. Good luck!

This is ours, which sounds a little like what you want. The first pic is from a website, the others are our actual pieces.

ETA: the website pic didn't load!

Check out BO Concept , there is one in Carle Place.

We got our dressers from there.

my favorite, and it is made so well

from restoration, I love this, DH wants a sleigh in a darker wood.

restoration hardware

the only down side to this one that I can find is that you are on your own for a matching dresser.

fortunoffs had some really nice furniture. We use rose furniture in north carolina. the site has all the manufacturers and we found where in our area they had it to look and then we decided we liked it and the shipped it with out tax. and we saved over 35% off the store price.
