Yesterday...

...paid the final payment to the band (ALL PAID FOR YAY!!!!)

...brought the menu from the temple to Mom and had her help us choose what she liked so she didnt feel out of the loop. Though I felt bad when I was reading the menu and one of the elderly men at the dining room table thought he was having chateau briand with a bird's nest for dinner. I just wanted to hug him!

Today...

...saw photographer and gave him the must take list as well as a payment.

...told him of mom's situation and to handle her gently (no pics in wheelchair or if mom has oxygen on) he was very sensitive to our needs

Tomorrow...

...meet with caterer at the temple to do menu and stuff that caterers do (AND NEGOTIATE!!!)

...get bags for OOT guests

Friday...

...PICK UP MY DRESS!!!

Monday...

...meet with Rabbi to review ceremony

Wednesday or Thursday...

...meet with florist to pick up bathroom baskets, drop off FG baskets and my Mom's bridal bible to be affixed to my bouquet and to make final payments.

IT IS ALMOST HERE!!!

YAY!!!!

My friend's dad had to use his oxygen during her wedding. There weren't any weird issues with the photographer. Her dad did get very tired at the end of the night and wasn't in an easygoing mood. But everyone expected that and it was not a big deal at all. He just went to sit in the bridal suite at the end.

I asked my sisters to arrange for my mother to have an RN at her side from the time she walks into the temple until 1 am.The home health aides that are usually with her are invited guests at the wedding and I just do not feel right asking them to tend to Mom's rather private needs on that day. We hired one of the private nurses who was with my father for months when he was in palliative care last year She is a true angel and was honored to be asked to work with us. She had even come to Dad's funeral, that's how much the family became a part of her life. I want my brother and sisters to enjoy themselves that night. My mother also wouldn't feel right if we all were looking over our shoulders with worry. Having a nurse there gives us all peace of mind - even though there are about half a dozen doctors and nurses and EMT's on the guest list already!

Things are getting better. We expect Mom to be released from rehab the Thursday before the wedding. My hair dresser is going to be doing her hair at the temple after she finishes mine so we do not have to bring Mom back and forth to a salon and wasting her energy by moving her around too much. She is very excited about having what she calls 'the best seat in the house' under the chuppah waiting for me and my brother to walk down the aisle. I think shes very brave!
