We are starting on our bathroom really soon!

We are raising the ceiling to cathedrial, removing the shower window, adding a skylight, tiling the walls up to the ceiling, getting a new tub with jets, new toilet bowl, and sink/vanity.
I am sooo excited I can't wait to start. I think in about 2 weeks!
Ray and I are disagreeing on colors a little bit. I like everything to be whitish while he wants the natural looking stone colors. We will see

Our bathroom is in stone colors and I love it!! I am sure you can compromise though. I can't wait to see it. All the work you two have done has been so beatiful.

Just a word of advice...white is TOUGH in a bathroom, especially with your dark hair. You notice every little thing.
Good luck, you must be SOO excited! I want one of those tubs!!

Yeah I wanted to add that we have all that naturals and stone in our bathroom and its awsome!!! It looks really good and hides alot! It was originally white but I like everything to look really clean and I couldnt stand scrubbing the walls and floor everyday!!!!

Good luck Julie! I agree with the above poster, I worked in the ceramic tile industry for many years and I had plenty of customers complain about white bathrooms.

Now have a white bathroom and I HATE IT ... my long hair is everywhere, his short hair is everyehere, dust is everywhere, lint from your clothes (DH's jogging pants especially) is everywhere and it only completely sparkles for the 10 seconds after I windex it all down.

I'll never do white again, it's way too much upkeep.

Along the lines of the color as everyone else is stating! I have 2 bathrooms, one is white (although my floor is navy) the other is stone colored!
The white one needs to be cleaned much more often! Between my dark (shedding) hair, the dog who likes to be in walk around the bath room when we are showering or drying my hair, the stone one hides so much more than the white! We also have white tile in our kitchen and I hate it, no matter what, about a half hour after I clean the floors it always looks dirty!

Whatever you decide though I am sure it will look great!

Sounds exciting Julz! It's been so much fun watching your house progress into a beautiful home - I can't wait to see these new pics!

Our house was completely renovated before we even moved in, but they chose a very natural color palette for the bathroom -cream/beige tones and it's so much nicer than white!!! I grew up in a house with a white bathroom and my weekly chores included cleaning it.... Very hard to keep clean and no matter how often you do clean, it just shows dirt so well that it alwasy looked dirty! I love my bathroom now, it's easy to let it go for a week and even with my long hair and now Golem's dog hair! - it still doesn't look like a mess Just some advice - have fun on your latest project!!
