We booked our hall!!

Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions. I was surprised to see so many responses! Right now we're kind of up in the air as far as the church goes. We are planning to ask FH's minister from home in VA to do our ceremony and need to find out details about whether we can have it outside of a church, visiting clergy etc. The grounds are so beautiful to have the ceremony on site but I just worry about losing cocktail hour time for pictures since the ceremony would be a half hour before. If we decide to have the ceremony at a church, that would give us some time in between. Like I said, I don't know how that works with having your own minister at another church. Is anyone in the same predicament?

Congrats 2006 sister! I really need to get on the ball! I've booked nothing!

I would just ask at the church. I've seen outside priests do weddings and it's usually not a problem. I'd just start asking those questions early and get all of the info first before you make any decisions.

Also, maybe you can get the hall to serve coffee and cakes or champagen and strawberries before the official cocktail hour, to give you more time.

Wow and I thought I was the only crazy who booked my hall so early!

I am going to start looking at photographers next, then DJs. Then take a breather, lol.
I'm going to the Bridal Showcase at East Wind on October 7th-- hopefully I'll find some good vendors there.

COngrats from a COuntry Gardens Bride to be in 24 days!!!!!!!!!!!

I would suggest figuring out the place and officiants for the ceremony next./..but not too early to check with music and photographers, some book really early!! You will LOVE the showcase, the food is Delish!!!
