We booked the North Ritz Club! A few questions...

...after all the worries a few weeks ago about reception sites being completely booked for summer 2003, we were lucky enough to get the North Ritz Club for July 19th, 2003. We are very happy with our choice!! There were some other sites available, but just not what we were looking for in terms of different apsects. The North Ritz Club is so new, light, elegant... Thank you all for your encouragement in finding a place.

Now we have some questions for otheres booked at NRC or those that have had their receptions there. I have read the reviews through the search engine, but wanted to post again.
1) At the cocktail hour, how was the situation with the bar in the other little room? Was it crowded or difficult to get drinks? They are going to put a bar outside if the weather permits, so there will be two.

2) For the entree, what did you choose for the chicken dish? What were your thoughts? We are pretty much decided on the Filet and the Chilean Sea Bass with mango and papaya salsa for the other choices.

3) Did anyone choose the barbeque station for the cocktail hour? How was it?

4) Did you use house vendors? D.J.? Photographer? We would like to look at these considering they eat for free!

I think that is all for now(Iam sure there wil be more later!). Thanks again! We are so happy and now the rest of the planning will begin. July 19, 2003---the time is going to fly!!!

CONGRATS!! Another North Ritz Club Bride!! My finace and I booked NRC for nov 6, 2004! You were lucky to get that place for this summer!! It's booked like crazy! I'm so happy for you!

We haven't really chosen our dishes yet, but as far as the bar was concerned, I would assume that having it in the other room was an asset so it was away from all the food and people trying to eat find seats......

That's about all I know right now! Definetley be in touch though!

BTW-I'm Alison too

Re: We booked the North Ritz Club! A few questions...

Hello. Got married there in October of this year! So I can tell you that you made a fabulous choice. I was very happy with my NRC decision.

1-I can't remember anyone have problems at the cocktail hour with drinks. No one mentioned anything to me and I have some video and pictures from that room and actually never see more than 4-5 people in that room. Many people complimented the cocktail hour and how there was enough seats for everyone saying often you don't get to sit because there isn't enough chairs. I know the point of a cokctail hour if to be social and not have people sit and just eat that is why usually there is less chairs but I guess people love to sit and eat when there is so much great food! (I had the entire cocktail hour inside and 175 people).

2- I had the same two choices as you did and then the chicken stuffed with spinach and pine nuts, I believe. I asked around and not many people ordered the chicken. I know 2 people who did. One said it was terrific and one said it was just ok (a little dry). Everyone raved about the sea bass (I had it and it was terrific) and filet mignon.

3-Since I booked so long ago, the house vendor list has totally changed. I used SAS (who I think is on the list after my wedding - 'cause prior to that SAS never played there) and Flowers By Brian. For video and photo, I used Fine Art.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best to you!
