Thanks to Lizlen for recommending Zareen jewelers in Tri-County. FI and i bought our matching gold band set there I also went elsewhere and am having a custom made diamond band fit my engagement ring. I am soooooo happy!!!!!!

Jenn- My FI was very worried about this but they said it was the only way to take a wax molding of it. Now I'm nervous

curly you should have went to my jeweler or someone who you know.
I would never leave my ring.

Please I am sorry didnt mean to make you nervous but you should really never do that.
Have your stone re appraised & checked when you get it back

Jenn- It was someone who came recommended. Wherever I went I was told to leave it so they could take a wax molding of it. My ring is not solid round on either side so they need it to fit in the ridges exactly. I was cautious but it was the only way to have done what I wanted. I will definitely have it appraised after the fact. Thanks.

if it was someone recommend then its better !!
my jeweler takes the mold on the spot is all, they tell you to never leave the ring.

Curly - I was reading what you and Jenn wrote. I'm sure it will be fine. But, as a word of advice - my FI's friend was getting something done to his fiance's ring and had his diamond switched and realized it while still in the store and demanded it be fixed and called his lawyer from the store - his lawyer said if he had walked out it would have been very difficult to prove it was the jeweler that did it. So, when you get it back, look very carefully at it before you leave. You may not be able to get it appraised and still take action.

But, I also have a friend of mine that left her ring and they took a mold and everything was good. So, you're going to hear stories from both ends of the spectrum.
