We've only met with two but both of them just seemed so.......... weird.
DJ#1 - sold himself like a whore.
DJ#2 - obviously thought we were having a sweet 16.
So frustrating. Can you guys suggest anyone besides Tommy's Tunes and LI Sound (please note: those are NOT the two that we met with)...

we also are having the same problem...i just saw someone poste about likeing high voltage so i think im going to make an ppointment with them.....and after hours came with high recomendations to me as well...if you contact them they will send you a dvd of a wedding so you can see how they work they seem nice i just wanted to meet with some other people before deciding

I know of a really good DJ...I can't remember the name of them, I have the card at home. They aren't one of the vendors on here, but I['ve been to 2 weddings they DJ'd and FH and I really like them. FM me and remind me tonight.

I know what you mean about the dj's, I left a bridal show horrified because they thought a wedding was really a sweet 16 and it was really just embarassing. I'm not speaking from personal experience but the dj's I'd like to check out because I've heard good things about them are, in the mix and fm entertainment. Also, have you completely ruled out a band? It sounds like it might be what you need.

Well now that they are staying in NY... I really love FM entertainment. I've only heard good things about them and we clicked with Frank, the owner. He doesnt try to sell you on anything and actually tells you that you dont need to add on certain things. Plus... the prices are sooo reasonable.

My FH is a DJ he has a wedsite it is triplealliancedjs.com. I dont know his prices but if you FM 2nite when I get home I will let him FM you guys or you can go to the website and him call him yourself. His name is Saheed. I hope I helped someone.

Check out High Voltage. Vinny really is a great person and they DO NOT do a sweet 16 type of deal. You can ask them not to do certain stuff and not to play certain music and he listens to you.
Also the other dj's we met were like hopped up on coke or something and very annoying and fh and i actually had to walk out of the office because i was ready to punch the guy.
Plus the prices are GREAT!!!

i was just about to post this - they really worked with me. . .i am very picky and they said they would do anything that i wanted. . .i really dont want that sweet16 feel either ( i dont think any bride does) and i basically said no talking besides introductions. . . no trying to 'pump people up' - if people arent dancing, change the song lol etc. my cousin went a wedding where they were the DJs and she knows exactly what i want and she said they did a great job!

Oh man, Brooklyn is such a trek for us. I'll have to talk it over with FH but this EXACTLY what we want! No trying to pump people up - precisely!
