i was just about to post this - they really worked with me. . .i am very picky and they said they would do anything that i wanted. . .i really dont want that sweet16 feel either ( i dont think any bride does) and i basically said no talking besides introductions. . . no trying to 'pump people up' - if people arent dancing, change the song lol etc. my cousin went a wedding where they were the DJs and she knows exactly what i want and she said they did a great job!

if you want try out eclipse entertainment...FH didnt want that at the e-party and he didnt do any of that...just played music, and only made announcements for a speech and stuff like that.

DJs at Work... I am telling you they are the best!
They play at all the fun dancing bars in the city -- Metro 53, Saloon, Pheobes....and they do a great job at weddings!

DJs tend to be the worst in terms of that 'used car salesman' aura, aren't they? So many of the ones I've seen are just so pushy, and kind of... I don't know, slimy?

We're just having a friend of ours do it. He mostly DJs in clubs, but has done some weddings before, and offered to DJ at our wedding if we just pay for his room for the night at the inn. Heck, yeah!

Back to you... sorry... good luck with your search! So many girls here on LIW seem really happy with their DJs, I'm sure you'll find someone you like.

It is so hard.

We've only met with two but both of them just seemed so.......... weird.

DJ#1 - sold himself like a whore.

DJ#2 - obviously thought we were having a sweet 16.

So frustrating. Can you guys suggest anyone besides Tommy's Tunes and LI Sound (please note: those are NOT the two that we met with)...

we also are having the same problem...i just saw someone poste about likeing high voltage so i think im going to make an ppointment with them.....and after hours came with high recomendations to me as well...if you contact them they will send you a dvd of a wedding so you can see how they work they seem nice i just wanted to meet with some other people before deciding

Well technically you only have to go there twice if you think about it

Once to check it out then you can fax over the contract and mail the money if you decide to use them - then you just have to go back close to the wedding to decide on your songs etc. Which i am sure you can even fax song lists and preferences if you need to. . .

you can do that for any DJ that is a little far. . . trust me i am in Queens i know how much it stinks to make treks into the boondocks for my vendors! LOL

I went with FM Entertainment and really liked Frank's personality and style. He was flexible and willing to work with what i want and offered varying styles of tones - voice that is. He demonstrated his different styles and i just got a good vibe from him. The price was also a bonus - $895 for dj/mc or maybe it was 995 - can't remember! Either way he didn't try to sell me any extras and wasnt pushy!

I know of a really good DJ...I can't remember the name of them, I have the card at home. They aren't one of the vendors on here, but I['ve been to 2 weddings they DJ'd and FH and I really like them. FM me and remind me tonight.
