On Wednesday, day before thanksgiving, we closed on our house!!! It was such a BREEZE! My DH's brother was our attorney, and he really looked out for us! The closings costs were nominal for us b/c we had a few concessions, and we even left w/ $1,000 left in our bank account! The seller was not present nor was the r.e. agent, we were in and out in 2 hours. That evening we ordered pizza and ate it in the new house, in front of the fireplace and slow danced to a romantic song (we brought a radio) and we both sat in silence and both thinking of our own ideas taking it all in! Our 2 bedrooms are TINY, but since they are next to each other we are taking out the wall to make one large bedroom. So DH is starting that this afternoon. My BIL is an architect and he drew up some ideas for us yesterday for the bedroom since we will be making closets---so for all you out there, our closing was a snap, hope yours goes as smoothly!

Updated- We Closed on Our House!
We have painted already, started demo-ing the bedroom, we have/had 2 SMALL bedrooms next to each other, and my DH took down the middle wall and closets and we are making it one Large (small) bedroom. He is a carpenter by trade--ha, 3 full baths, and one bedroom...but eventually we add another bedroom or 2. We haven't moved into the house yet, doing the bedroom work first and that should be done this weekend we hope. I will post pictures tomorrow. The house is in move in condition, so before we moved in I asked him to take down this wall-otherwise we'd be in there now.
