we closed yesterday

It went so well!! The sellers hired a cleaning service and the the entire was house cleaned and scrubbed in the morning right before closing!

The only problem is that we hired a decorator who sent us a nasty e-mail b/c she was pissed that we bought some furniture from the seller, instead of buying what the decorator wanted us to get. She basically said that as the decorator, she makes the decisions. What a rude e-mail to get on closing day.

Fire your decorator and get a new one. When she pays the mortgage, she can make the decisions. LOL Congrats on your closing!

Was she supposed to get a commission on new furniture or something? That was really tacky of her.

wow congrats yeah lose the decorator i think she is forgetting who the client is. what area did you move to?

Congratulations! Glad it all went well. I can't wait for us to close...

A lady I work with had a similar experience with a person she hired for designing. She put up with her bad attitude for a week and then got rid of her as quick as she could!

Yes, the decorator is fired!! My dad's in the carpet and rug business and he warned me that they get kickbacks for anything you buy. I think it is obvious that my decorator only cared about her kickbacks. If I wanted someone who only cared about commission, I could have gone to a store that has a 'free' in home decorating consultation. Anyway, the good part is now I am totally determined to do a better job than she would have. I may enlist the help of a friend whose taste I like and did a great job on her house.

We bought the seller's kitchen table for a very low price. It was custom made to match the counter tops and to fit in a certain spot. THe decorator didn't want me to buy that......how could we not buy it? The kitchen is newly done, so we are not changing it.

Oh well, enough about the decorator........the house is great!!!
