We got engaged!! <3 now what (LOL)

So my FH and I have been together for almost 9 years and got engaged a few weeks ago. We are trying to plan a wedding for sometime in 2010. (I am going to start looking at places this week and I can't wait!!)

So... I've been in a bunch of weddings already and while I was planning others showers/bachelortte parties, I came across so much stuff that I liked! So of course once I got engaged my mind went blank and now I dont' remember what sites I used (my computer crashed recently so I lost all my favorites/bookmarked items).

My ideas for themes are to somehow incorporate music/photography. My FH LOVES music is almost obsessed with it, and I LOVE photography whether it be of nature/concerts/sports/or friends families etc I love to take pictures. So I wanted to somehow use those ideas as favors/centerpieces/invites/std/ etc....... So basicly i really need help! LOL If anyone has ever been to a wedding with these themes or has has a wedding themselves with either theme or both, I can use you input. We want to do a lot of things ourselves since our budget isn't going to be so much! So please if anyone can help any way I'd appreciate it....

P.S. our wedding date is not chosen yet, but I had to fill that in, so I'll change it as soon as we know when lol..... THanks in advance!!

Congrats and welcome to the site! I know you said you don't have a date yet...but do you what hall you want? Or have you started looking at halls?

Also, there is a search feature on the top right-hand corner- you can try using that to look for some ideas.

I have been looking, but I didn't see any themes such as music/photography.

No, I haven't looked at halls yet and I'm not 100% sure where I want to have it. I'm going to start looking this week, but regardless where we have it I def know that those are my theme ideas....

welcome and congrats!!!!! you could use the film negative design for a bunch of stuff to go along with your photo theme! (i have no idea what they're actually called) but they'd be really cute for table numbers, or receptions cards......or you could incorporate polaroid pics (those would be such cute save the dates!) and you could put them on a magnet! and of course leaiving disposable cameras on the tables for your guests would go with your theme perfectly!

I think that invites, table numbers and center pieces are the easiest places to incorporate a theme. I'm not sure how you'd get both the photography and music incorporated yet...I'll keep thinking!

Thanks again for the quick input!!! I do like that negative idea, although i have hardly any negatives since I do digital photography. I wonder if there's a way to convert pictures into negatives, theres got to be a way right? lol.
I know as far as favors go, I'm def going to create my own cds. I just have not decided whether i'm going to burn an image directly onto the cds or if i'm going to create labels and put them on myself, i guess I'll have to priceout everything and decide.
My FH is a HUGE Phish, Grateful Dead, etc fan, so that's where the whole music theme comes in. I don't want it to be too hippy though haha. But not too uptight either... SO many things to worry about....

welcome and congrats!!! maybe you can try to incorporate all those things into table numbers, sign in guest book....even just pictures around your cocktail hour.
