So my FH and I have been together for almost 9 years and got engaged a few weeks ago. We are trying to plan a wedding for sometime in 2010. (I am going to start looking at places this week and I can't wait!!)
So... I've been in a bunch of weddings already and while I was planning others showers/bachelortte parties, I came across so much stuff that I liked! So of course once I got engaged my mind went blank and now I dont' remember what sites I used (my computer crashed recently so I lost all my favorites/bookmarked items).
My ideas for themes are to somehow incorporate music/photography. My FH LOVES music is almost obsessed with it, and I LOVE photography whether it be of nature/concerts/sports/or friends families etc I love to take pictures. So I wanted to somehow use those ideas as favors/centerpieces/invites/std/ etc....... So basicly i really need help! LOL If anyone has ever been to a wedding with these themes or has has a wedding themselves with either theme or both, I can use you input. We want to do a lot of things ourselves since our budget isn't going to be so much! So please if anyone can help any way I'd appreciate it....
P.S. our wedding date is not chosen yet, but I had to fill that in, so I'll change it as soon as we know when lol..... THanks in advance!!

welcome and congrats!!! maybe you can try to incorporate all those things into table numbers, sign in guest book....even just pictures around your cocktail hour.
I do love that idea and believe it or not (lol) I am pretty creative, but for some reason I have been drawing blank for a while and I really just want to start to get some stuff together.. lol

Maybe either as ur cps or as you walk into the RH, you can set up photos of you and FH through the years..like baby photos and then photos of you together (or you can have your dj do a photo montage..my FH's friend is doing a music themed wedding and instead of doing table numbers, he is doing tables named for different bands that him and his fiance like...i personally do not LOVE the latter idea but it could be fun if your FH likes music

I'm not a huge fan of putting pics of bands/groups on the tables. To me, that's a little sweet 16ish lol. I am not 100% sure how this will work out. I was thinking of looking for little music note type table card holders or maybe making them on my own if I can't find any. As far as him being a bit of a hippy, I think (depending on what season we wind up booking for) that the FH and groomsmen will wear black birkenstocks, that way he'll feel a little like himself. I'm not a huge high heel person so I want everyone to be comfortable. I was thinking of having the bm's either wear flat cute shoes or flip flops. Being 5'2 I may want to be the only one wearing a bit of a chunky shoes so that I'm not so sure in the pictures.. What are everyone elses themes?

welcome and congrats!!!!! you could use the film negative design for a bunch of stuff to go along with your photo theme! (i have no idea what they're actually called) but they'd be really cute for table numbers, or receptions cards......or you could incorporate polaroid pics (those would be such cute save the dates!) and you could put them on a magnet! and of course leaiving disposable cameras on the tables for your guests would go with your theme perfectly!
I really LOVE the STD magnet idea!! Unfortunately I don't have any polaroids. Is there any program to turn an ordinary picture into a polaroid looking picture?

Ok, I think you should go to barnes and noble and get the locations magazine ( I did this) and start looking at the halls that interest you...and discuss the budget with Fh. Thats very important!
But the one thing more important than that is HAVE FUN!

Maybe you could do a camera scavengar hunt??? Take a picture of FH dancing to (song played at wedding)
