2 weeks ago I posted that we were going to take in my almost 5 yr old nephew because his mother who lives in Vegas is a mess and he needs a home....so we got him!!!!!!! He is 34 lbs and he isnt pottytrained. It is heartbreaking to look at this boy....he is sooo skinny and he didnt even know what corn was when I made dinner.We were driving my 8 yr old to school and he said he had a tummy ache so I told him that was a hunger pain and he said if he drank water Mommy says the pain goes away!!!I lost it right there. He didnt know how to go down a slide or what a park was.
DH says his nephew is staying indefinitely and he is NOT going back to Vegas. We dont have legal guardianship so I guess we will see what happens
I am pottytraining him and I am proud to say he only had one accident and also made a poo poo on the potty for the first time ever yesterday!!

omg- I completely agree with Karrissa- It's horrible that you even had to so this, but wonderful that you are.
Once you get the basics, going, eating, potty traing, etc, I think the msot important thing you can teach him is to to take care of himself, in case he does have to go back & live with his mother.
Why does your husband want him to go back to Vegas?

What sad circumstances. I hope you are able to show him some love and goodness. And I hope that your sister gets her act together. As much as others may think poorly of her, I pray she straightens out, too.
