We got our license today and what a pain in the a$$.

FH gave his to the lady at the post office b/c he lost his passport and needed a new one and they will only take the original. so in order to get a marriage license, you apparently need your birth certificate. soooo, we go to get mine at my house. then we go to hempstead to get his. however, we are told that the hospital he was born in is under north hempstead juirsdiction, so we drive and drive to get to the north hempstead town hall in manhasset. only the computers are down. so they give us this other kind of copy of his birth certificate and then we have to drive to town hall in huntington and we finally got it. a 25 minute thing took us 3 hours! but we got it! and fyi, it is $40 dollars now, not $25.

I called and they said you need a passport and a license, no birth certificate. I guess this wasn't the case?

well, we both got new passports. mine was a reissue, so i just submitted my old passport and got to keep my b/c, but fh lost his passport and therefore, had to submit his b/c. we are still waiting for the passports to come in.
