We got our Marriage License today and I have a big TIP

I took a half a day from work today to get marriage license with FH today. We got all the way to Smithtown Town hall had what we thought was proper proof of id and I was told I couldn't get the license today. Why because Smithtown does not accept birth certifcates and drivers license as correct forms. (Huntington does)Smithtown only wants social security card and a drivers license. So FH and I had to rush from there to my house and back. We made it! we have a license.

So for all the future brides going to get a marriage license. Make sure you call before you go to see exactly what you need.

OK, so wait - if we go to Smithtown we only need soc sec card and DL????

YEP. I was told by the clerk at Smithtown that Huntington will accept the birth certificate.

Smithtown only wanted and accepted
Drivers license social security card.

That seems so strange!! But I guess good since it's what we've got!!
