Those of you who know, fh and I are renovating his parents basement and making an appt.... great....
Today witht he rains...IT FLOODED!!!!!! We just finished cleaning it up!!
However, we did finish the electrical and are like 90% finished witht he kitchen! YAY!

That is so wierd, we had a flood tonight too! However we think it was from the people's A/C in the Co-op above us! It leaked through the ceiling into our closet and no the ceiling is all wet and the carpeting in our room is soaked i'm so upset, we spent the whole night taking everything out of the closet, and the maintenance in our community won't come til tomorrow morning

Ohh nooo!! thats terrible!!! And esp carpet!!! That happene to my friend..the people upstairs got the 'movable' ac and didn't realize you had to put the hose OUTSIDE the window!

AH, FLOODS ARE HORRIBLE. ME & FH MADE THE BASEMENT OF MY PARENTS HOUSE AN APT. A FEW YEARS AGO AND 2 WEEK'S AFTER BEING FINISHED WE GOT FLOODED. BRAND NEW CARPETS AND LAMINATE WOOD FLOOR--A MESS. ALL I CAN SAY IS IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND I RECOMMEND A DEHUMIDIFIER TO EVERYONE!!!!

That ***** !!! I used to live in a Basment apartment that flooded any time we had heavy rain. Hope this is a one time thing.

That really does su ck! FH and I live in the basement too, thank goodness it didn't flood. That happened to us once..its not pretty!

Yup... fsil forgot to shut off the valve when she went to the potty!!!! lol
The bathrooms open and exposed so nothings fixed yet...grrr lol

Sorry to hear about this. Make sure you guys invest in an outdoor water pump. If your FH is handy, this can be installed yourself. I highly suggest getting this if your house is prone to flooding.
