We had our rehearsal dinner!!
As some of you may know we had to have our rehearsal two weeks before the wedding due to conflicts in people's schedules. It was great. Just wanted to give a mini review and hopefully I will have some pics to share later on.
Saint Aidan's Church - Overall the rehearsal went great. We were a little rushed because we were the first of four rehearsals that they had last night. The two women that led the rehearsal walked us through everything. People were given a chance to read if they wanted to and everyone saw the set-up of the Church. FI and I met with the priest before-hand to go over the readings we selected and the music since the Church is still looking for a replacement music director. The rehearsals last half an hour. But all bases were covered. We brought our license with us so the MOH and BM could sign it. One word of advice - I was not aware two seperate checks were needed for the fees. My parents had their checkbook so it was not a problem, but one check is needed for the Church offering and one for the organist and singer.
Europa Restaurant at Chateau Briand - Excellent!!! I absolutely had the time of my life last night and could not have asked for more. The restaurant is gorgeous. The service was incredible. The waiters were constantly coming over to take drink overs, folding napkins when we got up, etc... Erwin the manager was great to deal with and helped us select our menu. When we looked for places to have the dinner, FI and I wanted somewhere pretty, but that would create a relaxed environment. The back of the restaurant at Europa has two seperate balconies for parties. So our party had their own space but was not confined to a small private room area. Which we loved. It allowed for everyone to get up and walk around and mingle. The piano player in the background was a nice touch. Everyone said they loved the place and the food. I give them an A+! For a run-down of the food we started with family style antipasto which we asked be put out shortly after we got there since everyone was coming from far and would be hungry and they did. People really liked that as soon as they sat the food started coming. Then we had a champagne toast, penne vodka, garden salad and entrees. Everyone liked their entrees - which were either Chicken Sorrentino, Angus Steak, Veal Parm, Sea Bass. I had the veal and it was so tender. FI had the sea bass and said it was out of this world. For dessert rather than having one dessert we asked for tasting trays of assorted pastries and fruit platters so people could pick what they wanted. I think everyone liked that because they could nibble on a few things. Nothing was rushed and the waiters hands down were awesome. They run a great restaurant there and I am sure the catering hall side is just as good!
If I left out anything please ask me.
Edited to add in addition to the presents we gave out we also gave everyone a little two pack of Godiva chocolate hearts. We used the Godiva in Roosevelt Field and they were awesome. They wrapped each one with a ribbon and looked very nice. I read this idea on someone else's post - I think Rob-luvs-me. Thanks for the idea!!
