After more than a year searching, FH and I got a house in the Country Club area of the Bronx on Saturday. We are so happy that the owner accepted our offer. Since my family was putting alot of pressure on us b/c we had no plan B yet and the wedding was fast approaching. I have a question for house owners, does anybody know how long it takes to close on a house.

In NY it really depends. Do you have an attorney? If not, I have a great NY attorney. I live in Westchester :)

It also depends if the sellers are waiting to close on another house...usually within 60 days or so, also depends if you have a mortgage secured as well

Our offer was accepted in August and we closed in November. We had problems getting our down payment together, so that caused the delay. It the sellers arent living in the house and they are motivated and you have your financing together it should go quicker. Congratulations on the new home!
