I am really freaking out. Not sure if you girls remember but a few months ago we had a problem finding a church because my church was already booked for all the dates we were considering. We finally found a church but the priest there does not speak English at all....so i thought that one of my law professors(who is a priest) would be able to do it but i just found out he cant. where am i going to find a priest? my wedding is only 6 mos away.
the worst part about this is that i am really religious and now i am worried that this is some sort of sign...being married in a church is so important for me--i guess i should have worried about that first

Re: WE HAVE NO PRIEST!!!
Don't stress it hun!!! Everything will work out - there are parishes who have more that one priest around. Call those and see if any are free - if not call the archdioces and they can help you find someone!

I am surprised your church doesnt have one english speaking preist. I agree with the above poster to call diocese(sp?)

Re: WE HAVE NO PRIEST!!!
The story is a little confusing. My church is already booked for our date. We went to another church which is very small and met with the priest there that does weddings. He speaks English but is VERY hard to understand. There do appear to be other priests at the church but what do we do...we don't want to say to the priest--you can't speak english is there anyone who does?
My reception is at Oheka Castle...the church is also in long island in nassau county.

Re: WE HAVE NO PRIEST!!!
Very dumb question from the protestant corner - you are looking for a Roman Catholic officiant, correct?

Re: WE HAVE NO PRIEST!!!
Is there someone in the rectory or office that you can speak to? I dont think looking for someone that you and your guests will be able to understand is too much to ask.
