We have the apartment..Now on to furnishing it!

Where is a good place to get decent furniture..but we really don't want to spend a ton of money.

Levitz or raymoor & flanagans--we got ours at seamans but they were bought by levitz. you can also try route 110 they have tons of furniture stores.

I was in target today and they had really cute stuff - kitchen tables and chairs, entertainment units, etc.

My new favorite furniture place is Bassett on Rt 110. They have such gorgeous stuff and they have a complimentary design service. It sounds very intimidating but they have pieces that are quite affordable. Here is a pic of the dining room set we are about to order.

crate and barrel also has so less expensive pcs that you have to put together yourself- but they are very good quailty for RTA furniture

congrats on the apartment Kathleen!!

I love Fortunoff's furniture. they're not much more $ than Levit's and IMO, higher quality.

good luck!

We got a sectional and 2 end tables and a coffee table their for our den. Very reasonable. You need to ask if you don't see what you are looking for though. We went to a million stores in one day and couldnt find anything and then we went in there about an hour before they closed with a migrane and could barely see let along think. We told the guy that we wanted a sectional and gave him measurements he showed us a couple we picked one then he gave us 40 million fabric swatches and I was like no way am I picking anything right now, We decided on micro fiber and had a choice of like 7or 8 colors. Then he gave me a catalog to look for tables and found one right away. It was deliever within 4 weeks (while we were on our honeymoon).
I am actually going to go back to get living room furiniture once we get our taxe return.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT GO TO LEVITZ!!! It was a nightmare. Since they filed for chapter 11, their customer service has been awful. we ordered furniture that they originally told us would take a week to deliver and then we got a letter (not a phone call, a letter!) that there was a delay and it would take another month! we cancelled our order and bought furniture elsewhere. they told us our refund would come in the mail within 2 weeks. 3 months later, we were still waiting!!!! after numerous complaints, they finally gave me a store credit so I could suffer all over again...
