My front window measured sill to sill is 139 inches wide by 84 inches long...how the heck can I cover this window? I can't find a rod that long! I wanted to do sheers since the window let's in such beautiful light, but have some privacy as well.
Any suggestions? Don't mind the ivy on the crown molding, it came with the house. It's not my taste.
Also, we will eventually need to replace the entire window (since its single pane glass and not very efficient) so if anyone can recommend a window replacement person/company, advice, etc...that's welcome too!!!
I think the Home depot expo center installs windows too.

Re: We have the biggest window ever...help
Why not buy two 'bar' sets and just interconnect them. I think you can get 75' or so bars from IKEA. Buy two of them and just connect them together. Just make sure you have a holder somewhere in the middle for support or the whole thing can come down.
Of course that would be 'ghetto style'. You could also check out Blinds to Go and have them custom make you some nice verticals. Those would look nice there IMO.

Check with JCPenneys (where I got mine) & Marltons (Sp?) they should have curtain rods for bay style windows that are long with a support hooks for support. They even have double rods if you want to do a valance & sheers or sheers and curtains you can tie back.

Re: We have the biggest window ever...help
I was told that JCPenney had extra long rods. We have a very large bow window in the living room and I was told the same thing. They previous owners had verticals on every window downstairs (which I don't like!) so we are replacing them room by room. We got pleated shades from Blinds to Go for the kitchen. They look great. Each window in the bow has its own shade, so you can really see the window. So you can get 5 for your window and you mount them in the inside, so you would still have the sill and be able to see the curve of the window when the shades are down. Also the ones we chose are pretty sheer and look very soft. They have many different colors & patterns.

We have a 144' wide window in our dining room. We purchased 2 wooden rods and connected them with a joiner. (They sell a specific screw meant for joining wood rods.)
