We HAVE to put my doggie down. Its happening now!

My poor Truffle, she looks terrible. She is 15 and on deaths door. She hasn't kept food down in a week and she looks like she is in pain when she stands. She has dropped from her life long weight of 4 1/2 lbs, to only 3 lbs. She keeps looking at my mom and I with a look like she is asking us to die. My mom was holding off until my dad got home from Ohio, but my guess is it will be tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

I got her as a present for my 8th grade graduation, although really she is more my mom's dog, and Cookie, who was my grandmothers has become mine. But she is still my doggie and I am so sad.

Thanks everyone, all your warm wishes were helpful. It is like losing a family member.

I really hope to see a lot of you on sunday, depending on the time frame of things with Truffle. I think I will need a pick me up and meeting new friends would be a good one.

So sorry, your poor dog. Its never an easy decision to make and they are like family. We almost lost my dog a few months ago, but they were able to put him on meds for the time being. He's 16, which is very old for a maltese. The meds help, but like I said he's 16. Sending many your way.

So my parents just took Truffle to the vet to ease her pain for good. I am so sad but I know its the right thing to do. I am crying my eyes out though. I couldn't bare to go so I am going over to my house with Cookie so that she isn't home alone.

I am so sorry hun I went thru this last year at this time and I feel your pain. I am so sorry

We had Pookie for 14 years and when her year anniversary since we lost her hit, we all shed a tear again... and I am def crying now too. Animals are our family and I am so sorry that you are losing one of your family members

Funny I am most worried about Cookie. My other dog. She was my grandparents dog. One day her mommy left and never came back, then her daddy stopped moving and she was uprooted and brought to live with us, while her (destructive sister) Muffin was taken to another home. Now after 6 years of having Truffle around her she left today and will not come back. Its no wonder Cookie never lets you out of her sight.

I brought her over to my house and she is sitting her all confused. Mommy and daddy are coming over after. Its all so sad.

Oh, honey, I'm sooo sorry to hear this. In Nov. we had to put down my 15 year old pomeranian that I had growing up, it was horrible. Hang in there and just know that at least she is not suffering. You poor thing, that has to be the most difficult thing to go through.
