We have TOTALLY done this before but....

We were on a cruise in the caribbean and when we stopped in st maarten we went snorkeling. I had never been so I was a little nervous.. when we all got in the water he pretended that he wanted to show me something that he had found on the ocean floor and it was a shell.. with the ring in it. He found a shell that opened and locked closed.. how cute is he?? Needless to say I had to get back on the boat because I was so excited.. and thats where I said 'yes' because apparently I forgot

short version..

we went to hershey, PA for the weekend, and FH hid the ring under the bed...pretended he was leaning down to get something.. and completley caught me off guard... proposed while i was shutting down my laptop so we could get up early for the park the next morning.

i thought he was kidding and didnt even answer at first because i thought it was a joke.. i quickly realized it wasnt..

We had planned on going to the Museum of Natural History for a few weeks, so we drove into Manhattan on a beautiful and warm Saturday, parked in a garage and proceeded to walk along Central Park West to the museum. We spent a few hours walking around looking at different exhibits and even went into the butterfly conservatory. After we took a final picture by the 'big whale', we walked out of a side entrance and Gavin suggested that we get something to eat and go to Central Park. So in true New York fashion we got hot dogs with mustard, and two gatorades and entered the park. Gavin knowing he was about to propose had the perfect spot planned out: a tree lined ambiance that he had seen before but when we got there he realized quickly that at the end of winter the trees are barren, so he kept saying 'Let's go over there, let's see whats through that tunnel, you wanna go over there, let's walk this way..' (I was very confused) Finally after walking all over the place, going through a tunnel with a homeless man, and sitting on a big rock (which is not so good for getting down on your knee) we found a bench to sit on in front of Conservatory Water which is a small pond where people sail toy boats. They sat there for a little while and enjoyed the scenery and people passing by, and then Gavin turned to me and said that he had a card for me. I opened up the card and the cover was a black and white photograph of two children dressed up as a bride and a groom. I read the amazing words that he had written to me, and when I came to the ending sentence, where it said 'For all the reasons that I love you, I want you to be my wife...' Gavin stood up in front of me got down on one knee, took out a black velvet box, opened it up to expose a GORGEOUS and huge =) princess cut diamond ring, and said 'Will you marry me?' I did not answer him cause I was in SHOCK, I instead lunged off the bench and gave him the biggest hug while he was still on the floor, and he said 'ANSWER ME!' I laughed,and leaned back and said 'Yes, yes, yes, yes YES!', and then gave him a big kiss. People who were in the park said 'Congratulations', and then the phone calls began to tell everyone they knew the good news!

I LOVE these stories!!! I could hear this stuff all day.

As for me...

My fiance and I bought the pumpkins out east a week before and he said he wanted to carve them this year- because I've never done it before. it's all he kept saying the whole day, and he kept bringing it up all week saying 'What day do you wanna come over and carve pumpkins?'

I was like 'Ok you're almost 30 and you're a little TOO excited about carving pumpkins.'

So the following Friday (Oct 12- which happened to be the day we 1st met 3 years ago) we had a very casual night- went to dinner and went back to his apartment to carve our pumpkins....
So we start to cut holes in the tops of the pumpkins. He cuts his, reaches down inside and says 'There's something HARD in here'

I glance over and I don't see any seeds- so my 1st reaction is- There is a dead animal or something in there.... so I get a little scared. Then he pulls is hand out of the pumpkin, and he's holding a little jewelry box. I still don't realize what it is at this point, until he opens it up.... and there was the most perfect ring inside!


First words out of my mouth were 'SHUT THE F*** UP!'

haha I'm so romantic.

Then he got down on one knee and officially proposed. I started crying. Then I started jumping up and down! It was hands down the HAPPIEST moment of my life! (yea I'm a cornball)

I never get tired of sharing the proposal story. Who does? lol I love all of your proposal stories....

It was perfect!!! He brought me into the city to see Mama Mia on Broadway. Then we walked over to a little restaurant called Angelo & Maxies. After a delicous dinner and some wine, we decided to split a desert. While we were waiting patiently for our yummy desert to be served, FH asked me if I had turned my cell phone back on ( I had turned it off during the play). So I turned my phone back on and realized that I had a text message from him... At this point, I'm completely confused to why I had a message from him, when he's sitting right next to me. I open the message and it says.....'I'm so lucky to be with you. You are the most amazing woman that I've ever met and I'm so excited to spend the rest of our lives together. That is of course....If you will have me?' Now I'm really confused.... I read the message two more times and then look up...To find FH looking up at me, holding a little black box. He opens the box and says... 'Well, will you spend the rest of your life with me? I was so shocked- I didn't even say yes! I just kept saying 'OH MY GOD' over and over again! Finally I pulled myself together and said YES!!!!!! Then we kissed and did all the mushy stuff! The staff brought over champagne!!! Then we spent the rest of the night celebrating with our families! <3

I love all these stories so much!!

He took me on a Carribean Cruise and proposed after we were talking about having a future together. He didn't officially ask 'Will you marry me' and I always teased him about it lolz so a year later on our anniversary he proposed again at a little pier we love in Brooklyn.

The first night we were in Venice.... we came back to our hotel after a gondola ride and were sitting in this outdoor garden. he got two glasses of wine, we sat down at a table and he asked me to marry him.... How could i say no?

I love everyones story, and get a little jealous that mine is not so great-lol
We went away to my summer house for a weekend in January---he always told me that he was going to as when I least expected it----so I had just finished brushing my teeth and I was starting to make the bed and he said 'Do you want to get married' So I laughed and said yes and continued to make the bed, and when I turned around he was sitting on the bed holding out a box.
I don't rem. saying yes, I just started crying

ok...so for those who don't know our story.

I'm a teacher...last yr. I taught K. He came in to visit my class last period on the Fri before winter break (dec 22). He proposed in front of my class after giving me an ornament that said 'Will You Marry Me?' on it!

Haha! Cute! FH make me climb a mountain!!!!

No really he did. He was studying abroad in Greece and he flew me out to see him as my graduation present. We had planned on hiking up Mt. Olympus a few days after I got there. My sleep was all messed up so I got a cold! Anyway, we finally got to the top and he asked me!
