We made my sister a DVD

My sister had her baby 2 weeks ago. DH went to Staples and bought a photostory on CD&DVD program.
We had so much fun. Collected tons of pics from baby shower thru day baby came home. We selected all the music. Gave it to my sister Sunday night and we all sat in the den and as we were watching, I look over and she's in tears along w/my mom.
Just thougth I'd mention this program. Its a great keepsake for someone and a great gift!
We all loved the way it came out!!

Hey, that sounds wonderful. My sis in law is actually due any day..... :)

Is it actually called photostory? How much does it sell for? Is it hard to put together? Do all the pics need to be online to do?

Its called Photostory. We used pics from the computer (digital camera) and we also scanned pics onto the computer. The music is on our computer already downloaded.
It took about 2 weeks for us (I should say DH) to do! He got very involved in it.
It seemed easy, there were times that he'd have to re-read the instructions but it all worked out! We bought the program for about $40

Last q, may sound stupid, but not knowing how the program works....

you can reuse & make many different 'stories' or it can only be used once?

And...

did you say you got it at Staples?

yes, staples and Yes, im sure it can be reused. we bought a package of blank DVD's.
I told DH I want to make a DVD of our wedding proofs, it may take a while, but I think it would be so cool, esp. w/the music.

Ladies I am so sorry! The program was bought @ Best Buy for $39.99
The blank DVD's were bought @ Staples. Sorry I got confused.

Lvdolphin, I sent you an FM re: how to save to a dvd (what format did you save as? ) For the life of me I cannot save to a DVD for it to play as a VIDEO file. It keeps playing as only an audio file. I'm about to pull my hair out :(

Also ladies, FYI if you have Windows XP or another windows program, you can download this file for free from their website.

It's an AWESOME program

I hope I was some help to you. I am glad you like the program.
We are having our house worked on hopefully starting next week and we already took before pics..our DVD will be before, during, and final product!
Also, we are having a surprise party for my friend on Sat. and his wife already asked if we can make a DVD as a gift to him. Of course we said 'yes'.

Last Q, can you just tell me what setting you are using to save it.....

are you using DVD-NTSC setting?

I just saw this post now, sorry I didnt get to it earlier. You are not a pest, dont even worry about it. I'm glad you are enjoying the program, just feel bad that you are getting frusturated.
Plz feel free to FM or post me any more ??s you may have. I have to admit, I will most likely have to wait for DH to come home to help me answer them.

I'm so glad I saw this post!! I've been trying to figure out a way to do this and my Microsoft Movie Player was not doing the job! I'm running out to get it tomorrow to get it!

you mean Microsoft Movie Maker?
this is a very simple program that is free that mostly likly does the same thing as the above. This is how i'm making my moives for my DVD. You do need a dvd burner. Some dvd burners come with movie authering software. The program above may come with it built it (witch for some, make it easy)
