bedrooms has an odor - similar to burning rubber. We can't figure out where it is coming from or what is causing it.
Any ideas?
We thought maybe from the vent - but this is the middle bedroom and none of the other rooms has the odor. It has wood floors and its over the family room...which has no odor either. I went up in the attic and I don't smell anything up there either.
It's driving me crazy b/c the bedding and area rug now have that smell as well!!!

That's frustrating. I'll ask my hubbie if he has any ideas. He's usually good with figuring that stuff out.

One question ... don't know where you moved ... but this happened to me when I lived in PA and it turned out that a skunk was living under my house --- directly under my br! if you live out east, it could be this???

Thanks I'd appreciate it...we had an electrician in the house a week ago and he couldn't figure it out either. He was up in the attic so I had him look around. My mom thinks maybe something is dead in the gutter.
It's on the 2nd level of the house...I live in Northern Westchester. We definitely have skunks!!! One sprayed about 3 weeks ago and I think we finally got that smell out this weekend!!!
Also we have forced hot air vents - I'm thinking something could be in the vent...but it seems to be coming from under the wood floor!!! Is that possible since there's nothing directly under that room?

Unfortunately my husband thought it was electrical. His email, 'i would sniff all of the electrical outlets in that room also check anything that is plugged in.' I know that's not of help. I thought he'd know. Sorry.
