What is the one wedding cliche that you are tired of hearing?

'You have so much time yet, why is everything just about done' 'Why not get married now'

Hello, FH is currently deployed. I'd kinda like him to be present on our wedding day.

Ok I got that off my chest

On the flip side of that, being an older bride, I hear:

'Well it's about time!'

NICE right? People can be turds.

'You've been engaged a year and a half already and your not getting married until next July....Why wait so long?'

Because we want to get our house in order and be able to PAY for everything!!!!!

I have heard
'It's about time'
'Why are you waiting until NEXT year?'
'OH June 2006 ' (like it's 5 yrs away)

But the best one, that I am sick of hearing is from his mom, almost EVERYTIME I see her, she asks...

'So, where are you going to live after the wedding?'

I would just come back with 'if you're willing to donate to our wedding fund, I could make YOUR dreams come true and bump it up a little!' lol.. don't they realize these things are expensive?!

After looking at halls and pricing some major vendors (and booking....) our parents asked if we really didn't want to elope?! Hello people.. we're doing this for you. Otherwise, we would've been to Vegas and back, and I'd have health insurance and be a MRS!

When people ask 'Are you excited?'

I mean, it's the biggest day of my life, marrying the most wonderful man in the world!!!! What do you think, of course I'm excited and looking forward to it!!!

I should just come back with 'ehh' and see what they say!

'Wow you have a lot done already, slow down'
Uh no, I'm not a last minute person

'Why wait so long?'
Again, feel free to contribute to our wedding fund.

'In the grand scheme of things, an extra $1k isn't so much.'
Unfortunately, kind of true, but still!

'Noone will even notice the things you are so worried about.'
Well I care about the little details, so it's getting done!

Oh I get a few of them like:
Its about time
YOu mean you have a child and your not married (please its the 2000's get real)
Why are you waiting so long (um lets see money its expensive)
Oh you ordered your dress already aren't you worried you will gain weight and it might not fit ( yeah thanks for the vote of confidence that I will either stay the same or loose more weight)
Since you live together what are you gonna register for if you have the basics already (well there are alot of other tings that I want and need)

Even now that I passed the 1 year mark, I still get

'March of next year?!?!?!' Um, next March!!!

'you are done already, what will you do for the next year?'

'you have your dress already!! Isn't it a little early'

Hmm. . . thanks for bringing that up. I hadn't even thought of the fact that it might snow, in the WINTER, in the NORTHEAST!!
