We only have an appetizer, entree and dessert...

It seems that everyone has an appetizer, plus a salad course, and an entree...

Are we being screwed or what?

Your getting married at Capitale. In no way do I think you are getting screwed my dear!!! I think it will be fine with the selection.

Hi :)

What I mean is for the price we are paying and because we are getting married at such a nice place, I would have thought that we would have 'top notch' service, choices, etc....so I guess I'm just kind of surprised that there aren't more menu choices for the guests.

we have a cocktail hr with carving stations, pasta station (we arent doing seafood b/c we're doing kosher style), passed hors d'oeuvres and a few other stations I cant remember. We're having 2 appetizers, salad and dinner and 3 dessert choices and cake. I didnt like viennese (sp?) hour idea - not my taste.

yes, we're doing the cocktail hour with the carving stations, pasta stations and asian station and the passed hors d'oeuvres as well...but we still don't have an official salad course and we only have one app.

I'm sure they can throw it in for you.
Open your mouth, girl!! Just call and be honest.
It's only salad, how much can it possibly cost them?

I got our place to throw in (like it really hurt them anyway! lol) tons of stuff like diff. linens, upgraded suites, cheaper room rates, no ceremony fee, etc. It doesn't hurt to ask.

Call them ASAP! Leave them a message now if you have to so you don't forget to call tomorrow.
Let us know what happens :)

I think you are fine, most people stuff themselves at the cocktail hour. However you can try calling them and see what they say.
Good luck.

I know how you feel. We have the same thing going on. Our hall is Atlantica and after the CH all we have an appetizer, entree and dessert. I would have thought we would get a pasta course and/or a separate salad course but we don't unless we add it in. I would have thought that we would get more with them considering the price of the place. Oh well, I still love the place.

Yeah our place does the same thing. They call it a 'DUet Course' It is a salad/ appetizer combo. They do it so that people don't have to keep sitting down. They gave us the choice and we preferred it this way....We'd rather have everyone on the dance floor....besides, nobody will even want to look at food right after the cocktail hour - I am sure that your place will also have a very extravagent CH.

Before we booked, our BM told us that their goal was to 'stuff' people at the CH then have everyone dancing for most of the reception and then 'stuff them again with the desert hour'

You're fine Alicia...

Our place offerred:

- fruit/veggie app
- salad
- entree
- dessert

or....

- appetizer
- entree
- dessert

...and we're taking the second choice, one app, entree, and dessert b/c we liked the 'second' option for app's better, and people are going to be STUFFED from the CH.

we are doing that too. We didn't think an appetizer AND salad would be necessary since everyone would be chowing down at CH

Three courses is fine. By the time you get past the cocktail hour, everyone is stuffed! I usually miss a course in weddings that have more than 3 anyway!

Alicia, we are on the same boat.....I feel the same...for the price I am paying I should be getting double than most halls on LI, but in reality I am not.......I hope there will be enough food for people to eat......

Our salad is combined with the appetizer, then we have a pasta (which I negotiated for free), then entree and dessert.....

but at the end does it really matter?? people should come to the wedding to celebrate our love and not just to eat....

ps. I went to a wedding at Tribeca Rooftop in Oct and had the best time even though everyone after the wedding went to eat (we were starved)...the food they served was minimal (and they paid over 200 pp)....so with good music, good company it shouldn't matter....

also people are still talking about FH's 30th Bday party I had at Capitale....they loved the place so much...so don't worry, you will be fine..

same here we just did the combo course of appt/salad our reception was already from 9-1 so we didnt want people sitting down and eating the whole time. I think it will be fine

We have a combination course (salad and appetizer) instead of the separate salad, then appetizer. I prefer it this way, it saves time.

You'll be fine.

That's what we have at our venue. I wouldn't worry about it, by the time dinner rolls around, everyone is still trying to make room from the CH.
