We registered today and I have a question, need some feedback
Today we finally registered at BBB and Fortunoff it was fun. My question is did you and you husbands feel bad about putting to many $$$ items on the list. some people say just go for it its a one time thing where people are going to be buying you things and you might as well try and get what you really want but on the other hand i dont want people to look at our registry and think that we are inconsiderate. Our BIG BIG items were our pots and pans b/c fh loved to cook and we got the all clad , did any one else feel this way????? Just curious. Thanks

theres certain things where you want to get quality, like pots, bedding, etc... the better quality will last longer, and you normally might not buy yourself... just make sure there are some moderate priced items on there too, and i dont think it would be bad. people also want to buy you the more $$ stuff i think when its your wedding cause ' its only once'

Register for things you normally would not buy yourself. Don't feel guilty, whatever you don't get, you can buy yourself

Hey girl! Im so happy you registered! Did you have fun???
Anthony and I felt like this too but the only the thing that was 'expensive' was our cookware and luggage. We actually didnt really want anything else that was up there in price. We figured either our families or bridal party would buy the more expensive things, which they did.
I feel if its only a couple of things, than go for it. I mean if the whole thing is overpriced than yeah I personally would look at it and wonder why everything was so expensive but if you guys strike a balance than it should be fine.
Its your one time so put some things on there out of your league..who cares..if you get them great if not you didnt have them before so who cares right? LOL
I signed on aim but you werent on. Call me Monday if you can!!!!

You'll also find that some people will chip in to give you a more expensive gift. I remember at least one gift that came from DH's aunt and cousins together. But as someone said, just be sure you have a range of items.
You'll love the AllClad - I've used it for years and it's great.

Thanks everyone. karen- its my Fh that wanted all clad he is the cook between us, he cant wait to use them.
I agree some people might chip in in fact i think my mom and his grandma may buy us the pots and pans or at least a hgood portion of them.

I felt bad, hubby didn't. We argued about it and I just said fine and we registered for everything (no matter what the price was).
People bought what they wanted regardless of price.

The pricer items can be bought by groups. My FMIL always goes in with 3 other people for shower gifts. Maybe your rich uncle will get you something more pricer or a group of women from work will chip in and throw you a work shower even if they aren't invited to the wedding b/c of space. Worst case senerio, no one buys it for you, right?

Definitely dont feel bad! You are starting out and people are getting you a gift to help you out. If they dont want to spend so much $$ then they can easily purchase a less expensive item. It is true that your more pricey items will be bought by close family friends and your family - plus houseware items are so insanely expensive! So enjoy and know that no one will look down on what you have placed on your registry.
