I'm a 2011 bride looking for some advice from ladies that came back from their HM or any summer vacations...
FH & I are taking a cruise in November and I don't kow if should wear my ring in the ocean/pools while we're away?? I had my ring sized so it's snug and wouldn't fall off; but should i stil keep it in the room safe during the day while we're on the islands doing any water related activites and only wear it at night on board the ship? What about our days at sea? While i'm in the pool just hanging out and not really submerging my hand is it ok?

personally, I never wear it by the beach because I don't want it getting in the sand or water.....some people don't mind and leave it on, like my sister...
I guess it is just personal preference and I am overly paranoid!

I wore mine on the HM the whole time...it got filthy but I cleaned it when I got home yesterday and its all sparkly again...
I was scared it was going to fall off in the super cold ocean I swam in, but aside from that it was totally fine.

I never wore mine in the water, on accident once i did and i turned it and kept my hand in a fist... i never wear it in the shower or when im washing my hands... or sleeping
my sister wears hers all the time, no matter what she is doing...

I didn't wear mine. Years ago, my dad lost his wedding ring at the beach, and I didn't want to chance it.

I wore mine on a cruise in May and there was no issues. I take it off when I shower/wash my hands/do the dishes but other than that, it never leaves my finger.
I wore mine in the pool, on the beach, in the ocean, while jet skiing and not a single issue. The one thing I will say is that on NCL cruise lines they have those hand sanitizer thingies (and they absolutely force you to use them) made my ring look very dull. I just stuck out my right hand for them to sanitize and it was fine.

I don't ever but that's just me. We went on a cruise recently and I left my ring at home and I missed it a little but I was SO happy that it was one less thing to think about.

I took mine off to go in the Ocean. I left it on for the pool, except when we went to the water slide pool at Grand Wailea, I was afraid I would hit it and hurt myself. But my band fits into my diamond, so I have to wear both.

I actually wear mine when I'm in the pool. I don't really wear it in the ocean because the salt water makes it look really dull and if I'm on vacation I don't have my jewelry cleaner with me.
As far as on my HM, I bought a plain white gold band in addition to my 'fancy' band. I will wear the plain band at the beach and leave the diamond one in the safe.

I wear mine pretty much all the time. I took it off last week when we were in the ocean because the waves were rough. But I wore it the whole HM (even kayaking) without a problem.
I have a platinum ring/setting. I understand that white gold sometimes turns yellow after a while if you wash it or wear it a lot, but you can always have it re-dipped.
Do what makes you most comfortable. You don't want to be worrying.

Actually DH wouldn't wear his because 4th of July weekend his cousin lost his in the bay.

I feel like my ring spins around so much in the shower I take it off-so I don't wear it to the beach either.
Maybe once I have my wedding band it will be a different story.

I wouldn't risk taking it in the ocean because I know someone that lost his wedding band on his honeymoon. I would be too nervous that I would lose it. I kept mine in the safe.

i never do, and i dont recommend you do either. other than the risk of losing it, you can damage your ring (i believe white gold is most susceptible) if you wear it in chlorine and it can cause pitting and discoloration

I heard that chlorine can make the diamond foggy. Not sure if it's true or not but I don't wear it in the pool just in case. And i wouldn't take a chance in the Ocean - even if it is snug. Those waves can be really rough and you never know!

When we are on our honeymoon I put my rings in our padlock safe when we went to the ocean...but if we were just going in the pool, I wore it.

On my HM I just wore my wedding band down to the beach and around the town and let my e-ring in the safe in our room. At night I'd wear my e-ring out to dinner and stuff.
