Wearing BM dress as guest to wedding?? (Repost from BHB)

FH and I are attending a wedding in April. I LOVE these two tealength bridesmaid dresses. Have you ever heard of anyone ordering a BM dress to wear as a guest to a wedding?? I would get either of these dresses in black, so it's not like it would look toooo bridemaidish. What are your opinions on this?? Do you think these dresses look too bridesmaidish??

I really like both of those and I actually think they dont really look too much like brides maids dresses-especially in black. I would go for it!

I love both of them aslo. I really dont think anyone would even know they are bridesmaids dresses. They just look like fancy dresses. I would actually like to consider getting one of these for my shower dress. who is the maker?

Thanks girls!! The dress is Jim Hjelm Occassions. Does anyone know how much Jim Hjelm dresses typically go for??

I would go for it. They don't look like bridesmaids dresses and I REALLY like the first one...go for it!!!

I was in a wedding and we bought Jim Hjelm dresses-It was about 150 but it was also a long one.

Thanks! That's actually not a bad price at all! I was expecting over $200. I'll have to look into it more to see how much these would go for.

I love it too!! I would love to have it as my BM dress, but first of all my gown has pick-ups too (so I would rather have straight BM dresses) AND I think I would prefer floor length BM dresses. Sooo..I can now have it as an option to wear to a wedding! The wedding just so happens to be on the same day as our 6 year anniversary...April 24, 2010.
