my ring is also too big. i went to the store and they put a metal bar on the back which is adjustable. it fits perfectly and doesn't hurt. when it gets closer to my wedding i'll get it resized for good.
i had one of thoes once and it sliced into my finger it wasn't pretty i ended up using thoes plastic ring guards they were somewhat helpful

try putting the balls in...personally i'd rather wear my ring on my left hand ring finger...
