I have the same problem. I am going to deal with the contacts for as long as I can but I will probably take them out at some point during the reception,

I only need my glasses for distance but why not try a different brand of contacts to see if that helps with the dryness

I am going to wear my contacts. I dont wear them all the time but I will start to wear them more before the wedding so I am use to them. If I do not wear them or my glasses I will be blind and that is not cool.

I tried several different brands of contacts the year before my wedding and I finally found a brand that did not dry out my eyes. I still cannot wear them everyday but they are the best I have found- They are Bioinfinity by Coopervision.

Try wearing them for a month before the wedding and see how you do. Practice Makes Perfect!

Re: wearing glasses??

I actually started wearing contacts because I didn't want to wear glasses on my wedding day. I actually grew to loooove wearing contacts. I would say do it, even if you do need to re-wet your eyes with drops a few times. It makes a big difference!

I'm in the same boat as you! If I wear my contacts, my eyes will be bloodshot by the end of the night! I'm planning on going to my eye doctor soon and trying out a ton of contacts and get his opinion on things...

One thing that helped me is Clear Care - ever heard of it? It's really great stuff that gets all the protein off the contacts REALLY well! You have to let them sit for at least 8 hours I think, and it's pretty expensive, but totally worth it.

I wore contacts since the 7th grade up until 1 1/2 months before my wedding... then i decided that i wanted the lasik surgery... best decision ever made! if you or anyone else is considering that route, go to dr donnenfeld at TLC Lasik in Garden City... he was awesome and so was his whole staff!

I'm wearing contact and I had the same problem with my drying I go the focus night and day which are a different material then regular contacts and I have had very few problems with them because they hold so much moisture

Re: wearing glasses??

I would just start wearing contacts as much as you can now, that way you get used to it. I wear the Acuvue Oasys and I don't even know that they are in my eyes. Just go to your eye dr and see if you can try a few different kinds.

I only need my glasses for distance. I wear contacts sometimes and it took me forever to find a brand that fit right and didnt dry my eyes. pro clear works great. start wearing them from now. you will be fine by the wedding. Also carry rewetting drops in your little bag just in c ase

Re: wearing glasses??

I don't wear contacts, I wear glasses. But there was no way I was wearing them on the wedding day. DH and I are both basically blind without them so he called me the morning of the wedding to ask me something and then said, 'So, I'll see you when you're about halfway down the aisle...' And he did.
