Ok, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this just about the most obnoxious a person can do? I went to a wedding in August where one of the bride's 'friends' who was running around with bridal party all day (for some strange reason) must've felt compelled to wear this atrociously tight, too short, partially SEE-THROUGH white dress!!! Nevermind the fact that she looked positively profane in this hooker get-up, she wore WHITE to her friend's wedding. The bride was in Ivory, BTW. I turned to my cousin who was a BM (and will be a BM in my wedding) and said 'who's the b!tch in white?'. She gave me this confused look. She had no idea why I was appalled that this chick was wearing white. Come on now, I thought this was a known thing...you don't wear white to a wedding... am I wrong?

Of course you're not wrong!!! Don't even question it! She obviously had no class and from the way her dress sounds - no taste!

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
While I agree that wearing white to a wedding is generally a no-no, there is a huge difference between wearing a white gown and white cocktail/whorewear. From what you described, she sounded uber tacky in any color!
But yes, you are correct that no one but the bride should be wearing white.

I don't think it matters these days. The MOG and MOB and sisters should not though. Too close to the family.

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
Can I tell you my MIL wore off white to my wedding. I was not happy about that.
A guest wore a white pantsuit.
People do not get it.
I have heard of some weddings where the bride requests that everyone wear white, however that does NOT happen that often.

I agree white on anyone but the bride is a no-no. Can't we keep some traditions from years past?

It's so sad. Some women always have to be the center of attention, even on someone else's day. It sounds like that girl has neither, class nor taste.

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
a friend of mine got married recently and her mom wore white to the wedding. when she walked into the church literally every woman was whispering, 'oh my god! i can't believe she's wearing white!'

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
My friend had an all white wedding- we all wore white- and let me tell you no one and I mean NO one can take away from the bride the day of her wedding- it has nothing to do with white- i think that's an antiquated rule...
if a woman showed up in a wedding dress- then i could see the complaint.

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
I have wore off-white/cream dresses to weddings. I think that is okay. They were summer weddings are lighter colors are nice in the warmer months. I would never do white, but off-white/cream is fine. But the girl you described just sounds like trash!!!

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
No white to a wedding!!!!! Thats terrible and it sounds like to top it off, she was dieing for the attention which is why you don't wear white in the first place. I would send that chick over to the coat check and throw something on her!

Re: Wearing white to a wedding...
Wow, that's crazy... white to a wedding... isn't that only for the bride!!! Wow, that is crazy. I can see if you're wearing a dress with white in it, but just white and then to run around with the bridesmaids... that's just funny...
