Original post by MrsList

Just thought this was interesting and I'd share...

I just thought it was interesting that what they're calling 'modern brides' who think it's okay. I definitely know from hanging around the modern brides on this board that it's still NOT.

I think it's fine if it has a pattern or something, but a stark all-white dress, that's just rude. I mean, I probably wouldn't even notice the day of, but have some common sense!

JMO but ALWAYS inappropriate!

I'm wearing diamond white and my bridesmaids are wearing ivory so there will be a lot of 'white' in our pictures and I'm totally fine with it. I think it looks clean and crisp and gives great opportunities for pops of color.

And as far as people wearing white to my wedding, I don't really care. It's hard enough for me to find something to wear that I like and it takes me hours in stores and that might be the same for others. If after hours of searching all they can find is a dress that's white and they feel fabulous in it, then power to them!! JMHO

I do abide by the 'no white' rule though because I know it bothers people so white dresses for me when going to a wedding.

i just think if u wear white to a wedding u r asking to be the spotlight on the brides day because u know people will be talking bout u..dont matter if u u agree with the tradition or not..come on people dont wear white.its really not that hard a thing to do

ITA! people are sooooooo going to talk trash about you and its usually the old school poeple and even some younger ones too.. I was at my BFF wedding (I was a BM) and her SIL wore like a full blown white wedding gown on her day (she had the train removed) and told me friend that her dress was silver! Well EVERYONE was talking about her.. she just made herself look bad.

I will flip a shiz fit if someone wears white to my wedding. And everyone says you don't notice day of because you're so caught up, but believe you me, I will.

I am going to have someone go around and check for me and kick out anyone that is in white, ivory, a light pink that can be mistaken for white, or anything close

Ok maybe i wont be that crazy but I really would prefer if noone wore white to my wedding.

I actually had this conversation with someone ehose husband wears white to every event they attend. I made it known that I don't want anyone showing up my husband and myself. I don't think anyone should wear white to a wedding. I think its rude. Only if your culture doesn't do the whole white wedding dresses then ok but if the bride and groom wears white then NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
