When you take your vows does the wedding band go on top of the engagement ring or below it on your finger? I have heard so many answers.:

I'll wear my wedding band on the inside...closer to my heart, but on that day before the ceremony...the e-ring will be on the right hand

Re: Wedding and Engagement Rings placement
For that day I'm going to wear my engagement ring on my right hand and wedding band on my left. Then I will wear them together with the band closet to my knuckle and e-ring on top.

I've heard during the cermony your e-ring is on your right hand, your wedding ring goes on you left hand. If you choose to wear them together your ering goes on top of your wedding ring (you wedding ring should be closer to you heart)...
all of that said of couse you can do whatever you want-

Re: Wedding and Engagement Rings placement
What about those of you whose right hand is bigger than your left?? My right hand ring finger is bigger and there is no way that ring is squeezing on there!!!

Re: Wedding and Engagement Rings placement
My right hand is bigger too and I can't get my e-ring on it at all. I am trying to figure out what to do since I really want to wear the e-ring for the ceremony.

after the ceremony, traditionally, the wedding band is worn closest to the knuckle. The e-ring is supposed to act like a 'protector' of the wedding band....i think i read this on dear abbey. For the ceremony, i agree with the girls that you should wear it on your right hand.

Re: Wedding and Engagement Rings placement
My mom wore mine that day during the mass and after the mass I placed it back on my finger.

Do you think I could keep my Engagement Ring on and then just put the Wedding band on the same one? Because I'm scared of loosing them with all the switching.

This is what we did. The wedding band was on alone, and after the ceremony I put the e-ring on top.

I feel the same way, that's how I'm going to wear them.
