wedding announcements

Did anyone have a wedding announcent???

We had a small wedding and were unable to invite people due to the wonderful cost of weddings on long island. Anyway, my mom would like to send announcents out to people here in the states and family overseas.
Do you think this ok??
or does it look like a plea for wedding gifts??

I plan on creating it myself, what do you think about have a wedding picture included in the document??

I recently got one of these for a friend of my family that had a destination wedding. I thought it was really nice, she had their wedding pic on it. I did not take it as a plea for gifts at all, but rather sharing the good news. I did send a gift though
