Wedding Babbling...

So far the only thing booked is our Venue. I know the big things need to be booked soon but I just LOVE looking up the little things.

FH came home from work today and said he was telling his dentist about our wedding and he's getting excited for it. After I almost passed out from the shock I said Really? ok can we sit for 10 minutes and discuss a few things. We sat down and I just talked until I got everything out.

So we're booking our photographer tomorrow!!

I made a sample STD and FH loved the style but not the picture (which is fine b/c it's us sticking our tongues out and I just made it b/c it was free and for our own fridge and I love that picture!) But he liked the style a lot so we may just go with that!

I just ordered our hand carved stamp!!! I know people are going to think I'm crazy for paying $90 for it but I absolutely LOVE it. It's been in my bookmark folder for YEARS. I was just waiting until we got engaged to order it! LOL

We discussed an option for our officiant (going to e-mail them now)

He agreed that we should order personalized sunglasses (which I wanted to use for our beachfront ceremony as well as peoples place card!!)

And we started to discuss DJ's....If any of you ladies (and I think we have one gentlemen amongst us) have quotes on a DJ on the cheaper side ( I only want a one man DJ, I think we need uplighting and I kinda want a monogram for the dance floor!) please send them my way!

I am thinking that because FH and I are now officially on Spring break, that is why he's in such a good mood. But I'll take it if it means we're getting things done!

Now to go get dinner ready (I already had one of his favorite meals planned, Fried Shrimp, and I made a copycat recipe of Red Lobsters Tarter Sauce which he's been begging for me to crack, let's hope it tastes good!!)

I now realized I went on and on for too long...sorry this is so long! Needed to get it out and didn't wanna be THAT bride to people who don't really get it!

Yay! It's always a relief when the ball gets rolling. Photographer is a big one, that's a nice check to get out of the way. I'm booked with Tommy's Tunes so I recommend checking them out. I heard that Absolute Entertainment is a great price too.

As for the DJ, maybe see one from your vendors preferred list? I haven't booked a DJ, plus we might be going with a friend on this one who does this for a living if the price is right!

Also be proud of all those checks, that's a lot if work :)

Congrats Nikole!! I know you've been feeling unmotivated, so maybe FH being more interested is all it took!!! And once you get everything booked, you can just relax and enjoy browsing Pinterest and Etsy (like I'm about to do right now!! LOL)

I can totally get that you are more into the small details then booking the vendors. That is exactly why I want to book mine & get them out of the way. I am not much more ahead of you. I have venue, photo/video, & dj booked.

I would suggest you look into LI Sound for DJ. They build your package based on what you want, not a generic package like most DJs do. I also really liked Marc Baumann.

I love the personalized sunglasses idea. I am thinking of doing sunglasses as well because FH is obsessed with sunglasses.I want to put a sign with them like 'Don't be blinded by our love' or something like that. I think I may get the groomsmen oakley sunglasses so they can wear them for the day of & photos.
